I noticed that Gecko is celebrating today! He has walked this Earth for a mighty thirty-five (35!) years; tapping keyboards, writing lengthy paragraphs and - hoorah! - "creating stuff" throughout.

It wouldn't be a Green Gecko birthday if we didn't type a long well thought out post to explain just how important you are to all of us. Not just important, but you mean a lot to us and your health and your feelings while as you've shown over the years can be up and down, we hope that things are getting better and you're doing ok. Life isn't always easy and you've definitely been through quite a lot over the years.
Given everything you've always been a good friend to everyone here and always made us all feel welcome. You've put so much effort in to keep this place going, essentially taking over for Steve after a point and then having to deal with all the god awful payment issues due to our bad hosting system; as well as dealing with all the idiots here too who over the years have definitely tried to take the piss. You're only 2 years older than me meaning you, like I did essentially grew up in the 90s.
The 90s were pretty great. I think it goes to say without a doubt that they were much more chill. There was much more optimism and at least until 2001 it felt like the world was getting better and better. So many great cartoons, video games, tv shows, movies and songs all appeared around that time and they definitely kept us all busy as kids. The 80s gave birth to even more amazing things, video games really came into their own and some of the best music of all time - imo! Most importantly on this day the 80s gave birth to something more special than any media. Our admin and close friend Green Gecko. Happy Birthday dude
