Also playing on Hardcore mode so checks are really difficult. But I somehow managed to shoot the body out of the tree. In just an hour and a half, I've already discovered new details (Lena gave me a pin to pawn after I asked for money, for example) and I've already found two brand new thoughts to internalize. Hobocop and Aces High. I've internalised Aces High, even though it feels like something my Dad (a horrible racist) would brush off, just because it's something I haven't seen before and want to see what bonuses it provides. And this is my 4th time playing!

Again, I'm just completely transported by the writing in this game. It's outstanding. There's nothing else like it. Every sentence is utterly sublime and just melts into my brain in a way that makes me feel nothing but adoration and awe. The narrator has an absolutely perfect voice for it as well.

This game is real lightning in a bottle.

The checks in hardcore are harder but you get more XP so it balances out.

Explains why I've levelled up twice already

I couldn't even get my tie down today. So it's just been left hanging.

Any hints for day 4? Kind of feel like I've hit a wall after how I ended day 3....

Ended the day speaking to the government official, inside the apartment, overnight I seemingly had a choice to make about how to spend day 4? Thought it'd be fun to look for communists to recruit to the cause, so I found a couple of those last night when I started day 4, but doesn't feel like thats a good way to spend a full day.... Do I need to purposefully ruffle some feathers so to speak? Say to one of the other mercenaries about the tattoos? Even though it really doesn't seem like a good idea to, at all? After a slow start, the latter half of day 1 through to day 3 have been excellent, but it just feels like I've hit a wall now, am I missing something obvious? Do I need to lie to Everet about the signatures to get my gun back?

Edit, made a little progress on one area now, got to wait till 10pm for that though.

How are you finding it on Deck compared to desktop?

It's great honestly. I don't mind the controls at all.

Have you passed the authority check with Titus? That opens a new branch of the investigation and if you complete the dialogue tree you'll get bonuses towards it too.

Pretty sure I've explored the dialogue options with Titus as much as I can (Elizabeth as well), although I've not passed the check (which is currently at 17%, despite having a few +1/+2 multipliers on there as my Authority is currently at 0, will take the item of clothing off thats giving me a minus and try it, thanks.

Edit, 28% and passed it :datass:

My day 1 antics coming back to bite

The writing and story telling in this really is excellent.

Edit, just failed an 84% check :fp:

Nice. I might play a bit on Deck then. Although at the minute I seem to be playing this for a couple of hours in the morning on PC and Apollo Justice is my Deck time.

After having that one hint given to me (thanks, Winckle), day 4 has gone from feeling like a chore to being utterly captivating, like a portion of a film you can't stop watching and analysing, a chapter of a book that almost demands a re-read as soon as you've finished it. Just brilliant.

Thankfully got a couple of things to do at 10pm and 11pm now, got a few more people to see in the meantime of course.

Looking forward to getting a couple more hours into this later, no idea how far off the end I am, seems to be solidly honing in on one suspect now, definitely want to get my gun back at the end of day 4 though so I don’t know if I’ll be in a position to finish it on day 5 or not?

I’m looking for Ruby on the coast, but then I’m expecting the tribunal from the other two mercenaries to be a focus at some point?

Sorry for the double post,

Very nearly at 10pm, day 4 now, so will hopefully have my gun back shortly. I guess Ruby is in the abandoned Feld Factory? The one check there seems to be to enter it is at 8% :fp: that’s with 5 points into Shivers along with a few multipliers, guess this may go up vastly on day 5? I’ve had a look all around it with L1 held down and nothing has popped up other than a cracked sewer pipe which didn’t yield any results.

Edit, onto day 5 now...... Had two crashes already and I'm not even at 8 am yet :fp:

Going to try and finish off the church side quest and see if that gets me anywhere now I've finally cracked open the ice cream maker in the basement.

Edit 2, finishing the church quest made the check I referenced earlier a 72% with the right clothing choices, now on the roof that I totally teleported up to :shifty:

Loving this, but feel like I’m getting towards the end?

End of Day 1 and I got some revenge on Cuno by punching him in the face, after Kim had gone to sleep. Also stole the boots while I had the opportunity.

Morning of Day 2 and I've sent Kim away to process the body. So now I'm going to explore the Doomed Commercial Building by myself and then I'll interview the Hardie Boys solo.

Got a great buff from one of my internalisations that allows me to heal physically when I attack inanimate objects and it also buffs the related checks. It's how I've gotten through the warded door this play through.

I don't actually think Hardcore is that difficult. I'm not noticing a major difference to previous playthroughs. Definitely failing more checks but levelling up more quickly is a huge benefit.

Definitely nearing the end of this now, some thoughts from what I think is the finale.....

Day 5,

I got my gun back on day 4 evening, day 5 I finished the church quest and explored the Feld building, found Ruby and managed to break the machine trapping myself and Kim. Then? Shootout in front of the Whirling Rags, myself and Kim managed to take down all 3 mercenaries but sadly 3 of the Hardie boys got killed or ran off. I did however get shot, so spent until mid morning on day 7, asleep in my freshly cleaned (and now free!) hotel room. Then I headed to the island, where I've spent ages talking to a deserter, who just generally seems to dislike Revachol for various reasons.

To top it all off? I got to see, meet and speak to the Insulindian Phasmid!! Thanks to Kim, I also had my picture taken with it, wish I'd not sent the cryptozoologists home now, but I think the guy would have died if they'd stuck around :(

Edit, and another crash  Think this has to be the worst game I've ever played on the Switch in this regard.

Edit 2, done :toot: Brilliant game barring the performance issues I encountered. Not sure I'll get around to playing it again, but 100% worth the £12 or so I paid for it on sale.

Edit, just got the Whirling Rags daytime music on now, such a great piece of music

Did you do the karaoke? Legitimately one of the my fondest memories of the game.
