Is there a maximum day limit for the game? I know I'm still on day 1, not even halfway through the day, but feel like I've seen loads but at the same time not really done much of note?

No

I looked this up and apparently it's 10 days max but I don't know how you could take that much time.

Guess it does a good job of almost pushing you down the story as you get nearer to the 10 days time limit then?

Time only passes when you're talking to someone or interacting with something. I think I completed the game in like 5 days max and I was doing all the side quests I could find.

So, how important is the smoker on the balcony in the area with the greenhouse? For some reason, every time I try to finish talking with them, nothing happens, can't exit the dialogue, I've waited a few mins and nothing happens. Or am I going to need to keep trying my luck till I pass the 38% check?

I've just broken into some right wing guys apartment, now off to see the Dock boss again to see what more dirt he can spill on him

Edit, nearly done with day 2, though I need to ditch Kim to go back and visit someone.......

Finished it last night on Day 5
with Kim joining the precinct. Was a bit disappointed the ending turned into an info dump, but it was more about the journey than the destination anyways. Aside from some pacing issues and overly wordy sections, I did really enjoy the playthrough. Also, while I definitely didn't expect the phasmid(!), had thought it might have leaned more into the looking glass than it did.

Tribunal didn’t go well, never found my gun so I was a bit useless. Did jump in way and armour helped me take a hit, Kim got shot so I’m alone. Had chance for Cuno as a companion but strawberry float that

Mine was a bit of a massacre, think 8 got shot including myself! Had a gun (not my own) but the first shot missed. So then decided to throw my gun at them. Unsurprisingly, that didn't work  Was shocked I made it through tbh!

Just finished. Oh dear

My final evaluation didn’t go well, perhaps telling them about the drug lab I set up wasn’t a good idea. They didn’t take me back and I embraced alcoholism living in the shack near the other addicts. No idea if Kim survived or not
Both Klasse and Ruby fled and I had very little evidence to prove old man did it. No one believed me about the phasmid and since the zoologists fled after the massacre I couldn’t even tell them.
A much more depressing ending than my first play through but so fitting for the way I played.

It’s a great game, part point and click and part interactive story with some nice ways to role play (within a pre set window). I’m glad that things went very differently from my first play through, really means everyone will have their own personal journey and I love that.

This is my second play through. On my first go I was hard left sorry cop, so this time I'm choosing to play with an ideology I hate in real life - Neoliberalism.

I've taken the bribe from Evrart because hey, it's all part of hustle grind culture right? And taxes are theft you know!

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

You'll be bending light in no time, Harry!

My slow progress update...

Day 1 - crime scene
I pointed my gun at Cunoesse, but chickened out, and Cuno thinks I'm so pathetic I can't even talk to him any more. Bit gutted I missed my chance to punch him, might save scum a bit to go and get that.

I'm finding this very slow going. I'm only a few hours in and I really don't understand the skill points or a lot of the stuff in the menu-the game doesn't do a very good job of explaining things to you!

Should I just spend more time pursuing the threads in my note book and exploring and go with it?

I also have 1 morale and have had game over a few times out of nowhere from it dropping to zero which is very annoying to be honest. I'm getting into the habit of saving more often because of it but how do I get morale to 2?

Always punch Cuno. Kim doesn't like it but it buys you some respect from Cuno.

Put points into Volition.

You can also use items to restore morale for a short period after it hits 0, so you can recover that way, rather than have to reload a save.

On my first playthrough, I spent very few of my skill points on individual stat upgrades, but chucked everything into the thought cabinet instead. It's not really essential to level up at all, unless there are specific white checks you want to reattempt and can't do so by using items.

Yeah, it throws you into the deep end at the start and just takes a bit of time to figure out. I also found the first day slow going. Enjoyed it more once I got into Day 2, progressing the investigation and generally having a better idea of how things worked.

Oh I forgot to mention, I've put most of my stat points in intelligence and motorics. Being low volition and low endurance has not given me a lot of wiggle room. I've been slamming back painkillers and magnesium to avoid game overs

Onto day 3 now, got myself some free accommodation in the fishing village, met some lovely young people who wanted to open a totally honest club in the nearby church, still not sure what I should really be doing on day 3 though, I'm just talking to everyone I find and seeing where it takes me  Don't think on the slim off chance I get to day 10 and I don't see the actual ending, I'll be replaying it though, its a very well made, depressing game world, but I'd take that as my ending as it'd be oddly fitting that the main character, who binged drugs and alcohol for days, leading to self induced amnesia, doesn't solve what could be a very complicated murder case.

When I level up I'm putting the bulk of my points into intelligence, an even spread across the 5 areas.

I’d be stunned how anyone could reach day 10 unless deliberately stalling. I wrapped up on day 6 and that was fairly leisurely (though there were side quests unfinished when I ended).

I'm not deliberately stalling, or not on purpose anyway, but I just feel like I'm making very little progress, but I guess it's a slow paced game if it's your first time through?

Plot shifts gear later so things start happening pretty quick as I recall. Of course depending on build and play style you could breeze some bits and take different paths on others. Main plot though is fairly standard from what I’ve seen.

Thats good to know, was worried I was spending too much time on other stuff, but it it ramps up as you progress the days then I'm not as worried now. Spending far too long investigating this church though.
