I tried to start this on PC but most of the buttons on my pro controller seemed unresponsive. Is it easily playable with mouse and keyboard?

Very playable, it's a classic point and click game. I started my first playthrough m+kb before I switched over to play on my Steam deck, and still prefer those controls if playing on desktop.

So I have gone down a dark path re: Cuno and his girl

I tried to shoot the girl as she called me names then I fronted Cuno and he now blanks me  it’s amazing that Kim was fine with me trying to murder a child, just a bit disapproving

I think it's designed for Kb+M so yes!

The buttons may feel unresponsive because it has a weird control scheme. It's like the controller has been mapped onto the KB+M controls (rather than design a way to play directly with controller like Baldur's Gate).

The right stick highlights things or orbs nearby that are interactable, but you have to flick it to move the highlight by orb/highlighted thing one at a time, a bit like changing your lock-on in souls. A will select them but you'll move to where you need to be to "interact" with it, which sometimes takes you on a comically circuitous path to something right next to you.

Yeah keyboard and mouse is far superior for this. Controller is perfectly fine though!

For the first 20 minutes, I found the controls very unintuitive if I'm honest, once you realise that it was made for K+M, it became easier to control.

Hoping to get a bit more time into this later, I left myself stood in a bookshop after getting distracted going to the body, I did not have any fun with the manager either, so either got to pay my tab or go home

I finally just finished off Great Ace Attorney 1... so can now finally get back and play through this gem :) I'm grateful for the playde, lovely community idea!!

I played a couple hours some months back and was so impressed. I love how it handles dice rolls, with failure frequently being a viable path forward. It's also some of the best depressive inner monologue prose I've ever read, as err cheery a subject that is :simper:

-

The only thing that drove me nuts was the choppy scrolling you often get in Unity games, since it updates internally at 50fps. If you're on PC or Steam Deck, you can make it look much more consistent by running a refresh rate of 50Hz/100Hz/150Hz/etc.

Someone also did make a mod to update screen scrolling at 60fps, which would scroll nicely at 120Hz also. Unfortunately, it's not been kept up to date for any official game patches after July 1st, 2022, so I had to use this guide to roll back the game version to make it work.

This is touch screen compatible on Switch isn’t? I might fire this up later and join in the GRplayde

Day 1 morning,

just got 'killed' when talking to the boat captain, I had made some headway in the bookstore, but then I need a torch from Kim's car, which I have no idea where the hell its parked  Edit, when I had to reload, I found his car right away :fp: Got a torch and heading back to the book shop to investigate the paranormal going ons!

This is not a game to play when you're tired either.

Alright just kicked this off. It's not intuitive on Switch how to actually interact with the world so it took a bit of getting used to before I could do anything.

So far, very fun. Might lose my mind later tho IDK.

Day 1 still,

Bookshop owner is crazy, probably as crazy as the main character but not as good at hiding it, she's deluded if she thinks her poor shop is being cursed by an entity, poor die maker getting the brunt of it from her as well, thinking the die maker was working with the made up entity. Finally going to see the body after briefly stopping by the kitchen once it opened at 1pm. I also need to get a super crowbar to open an ice cream maker

I found the controls were poor to start with a well, wasted probably nearly an hour of in game time trying to get my clothes picked up and equipped :fp:

The controls aren't that bad, walk around with the left stick, use the shoulder button to highlight things of interest, use the right stick to pick what you want to interact with

Yeah they're fine once you understand how to interact with the world, just feel a little fiddly at first. Keyboard and mouse would be the best way to play this.

Is there a maximum day limit for the game? I know I'm still on day 1, not even halfway through the day, but feel like I've seen loads but at the same time not really done much of note?

Yea they're fine once you know 'em, but it's not a very instinctive interface on console. Clearly meant to be KB&M so a little hand-holding to get you going wouldn't have hurt.

Just barely raised enough money to pay day 1 of rent!

Hopefully Kim didn't mind me pawning his handkerchief :simper: Not sold his pen at least...

Probably for the best, can see myself spending too much time trying to see as much as possible, even though I guess you physically can’t see everything a day has to offer.

I had 260 real by the end of Day 1 and felt like a superstar. That was after spending like 25 on clothes too!

I just turned off the ice cream maker and will come back the next day after presumably the ice melts? Not 100% this will work but feels like it should!
