Apprently these video settings are good for most games when using the epsxe emulator. I'm using them and mgs is running more or less nicely.

Started this on PS1 emulator, just got the level 2 card.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Only got to the DARPA chief last night but I shall get a lot further today. I love how they bob their heads about when talking.

Played up to meeting the DARPA chief last night.

Captured some screenshots while playing too so I've uploaded a few of them. They're spoilered because they're large and haven't been resized. Aside from the pixellated textures the game doesn't look too bad.

I wish that superior version of the game emulated well, but unfortunately it does not.

Don't you have a PS3?

Yeah, do PS1 games work on the PS3?

Didn't think the PS3 was that backward compatible.

They certainly do. It was only the PS2 compatibility that Sony ripped out.

Mind blown

I have easily 30 odd PS1 games that I've not been playing due to not knowing this :fp:

:fp: it always amazes me that people don't know this, it's like people that don't know wiis can play GameCube games!

Anyway, Cyborg Ninja and Psycho Mantis down. The grabbing mechanic is really pissing me off now, sometimes I grab someone silently and other times I get a ! and shot to pieces doing the same thing.

I think one way of overcoming that is running close enough to punch them, then as soon as you punch, start hitting square and you should grab them fine with no danger of an alert. From what I remember anyway.

Im also sure some guards can't be grabbed without an alert. The one by thesocom suppressor seemed to give me nothing but gooseberry fool evrtim.

Sadly it does not indeed. If only there were an HD version of this released.

Anyone else playing the PC version? first time playing this version of it, wondering if it's meant to not be widescreen.

I'm sticking to emulation, there's a couple of glitches, like the FMV real-life footage that plays when the ArmsTech president talks to you doesn't render properly, just a green glitched screen.

Can anyone remind me where the infra-red gadget that lets you see beams and mines is hidden?

Care to PM me what emulator you're using?

I don't mind posting in the thread, it's not illegal at all and it could help others.

First download the main emulator:

http://www.epsxe.com/files/epsxe170.zip

Then you'll need a plugin to handle the graphics, download this and place it in the plugins folder:

http://www.pbernert.com/gpupeteogl209.zip

Finally you need a BIOS that matches your version of the game. This file cannot be shared but the file name for an NTSC PS1 is scph1001.bin and a PAL PS1 is scph7502.bin.

You'll need the one that matches your copy of the game.

The emulator can either run the disc from the drive, choose CD-ROM for that. Or you can use imgburn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to rip a copy of your disc to the hard drive, choose "create image file from disc".

Maybe copy this to the OP.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

In the tank room with the lift and beam corridor the room's accessed by the walkway. The googles are in the second room before the security camera.

Couldn't get my Xbox 360 controller to work with that emulator :(
