I am currently only up to the end bit of Dark Ice Mines, but I am struggling to motivate myself to go further. I am not devoting much time to playing any game at the moment, so it's a bit of a pain when I stick this on - a mediocre game I have already completed. The game is just so tepid - often full of fetch quests, boring combat and linear paths.

It's not all bad though. The game's idea had potential - and even forcing the Starfox crew in works - and it still looks quite lovely. Especially when the sun rises in the snow sections. I'll stick with it a little longer. It's alright to play with music blasting out and not particularly paying attention to what's going on on-screen.

That's more or less how I'm playing, though it's a bit more enjoyable since it's my first time.

Lightfoot Village :o

This really would have blown me away in 2003 or whenever it was released, graphically at least.

It still astounds me, even today! I adore the ambiance, and Dave Wise produced some stellar music to accompany it. In terms of immersion, I think Rare fashioned an immaculate game--owed to its lush aesthetic, rich music, and comfortable controls. Fox even seems to move in a satisfying way.

It is a pity, though, that the game isn't so eloquently structured. I was 12 when it was released, mind, and it really hit the spot. I think, for a time, I anticipated the game more than Zelda--though that's not to say I wasn't dizzy with excitement at the prospect of playing both.

It turns out I still have my copy as I stumbled across it last night. :fp:

Now I just need to stumble across some motivation to play it.

Got the third stone, the boss was lovely.

I'm not overly keen on slugging them back to the temple, or whatever it is, though.

I finished this game three times back in the day,I remember the game being a chore but I loved the music and visuals so much it was worth it in the end. Final moments are terrible.
