GRplayde - Deus Ex - WHAT SHOULD WE PLAY NEXT? SUGGESTIONS!

My problem with Halo and Half Life is that they're high-profile games, and always at the front of my mind if I'm thinking about replaying something. I'd rather dig through memories (mine or someone else's) for a forgotten gem or an underrated classic.

Saying that, if they were picked, my only major objection is that I foolishly traded in The Orange Box when I really shouldn't have.

I quite fancy something lengthy this time, which will take weeks like TTYD did. Deus Ex's Playde felt it was over after a few days and the Retro Playde we've got going (Link's Awakening) is only a three week jobbie.

What about System Shock 2?

Damn good game! It's quite 'Deus Exy' though... Or rather, Deus Ex is clearly heavily influenced by it. I'd play through it again but maybe people want to try something very different?

I really wanted to play SS2, but all that I get is a blank screen and I can't remedy it even though I know the game is running as when I move the mouse I can hear sound effects of my mouse running over options.

How about Fahrenheit? I was planning on playing through it again soon anyway.

I'd definitely be up for Grim Fandango. However, I shall nominate Monkey Island.

Beyond Good & Evil should absolutely win. I've still not played it, and this would give me the reason I need.

Would it be easy to buy for those of us that haven't got it? I thought it might be quite rare or something...

No, it's widely available on PS2, which aren't as rare as the GC/Xbox versions. Dead cheap on Steam as far as I can recall as well. Seems like a perfect fit.

I have not played Beyond, Good and Evil and it's not something I'd usually play.

I'm all for going a bit out of my comfort zone, as I'm sure I'll get around to Monkey Island eventually anyway.

Provided it's okay with keyboard and mouse controls that is. I can't be arsed to get it on PS2 and I don't have a PC compatible controller.

I'm going to sit this one out - seeing as I haven't finished either Paper Mario or Deus Ex.

Fell of the PM wagon during an epic house move, and want to go back to it. Deus Ex was great, but by the time i'd gotten to the Mole People, I actually felt like i'd gotten the fix I came back for and that was enough for me.

I will finish Paper Mario though, and rejoin the next GRPlayde!

I'm well up for a bit of Beyond Good & Evil, let it be known.

I have been close to restarting Half Life 2 anyway so that gets my vote.

Half Life 2 with the Novint Falcon.

Seriously, I'm tempted to buy one the Novint Falcons. By the time I save up enough, hopefully there will be more compatibility across games. It's already compatible with Left 4 Dead now :O
