I'll most likely be playing this again on Tuesday. I feel that Smash will take up the weekend while Mario Kart dominates my Monday evenings.

If you mean the big green buildings, then yes, you are there.

I took a break from Smash and decided to load this up. I've just arrived at the volcano, or should I say the dragon just dropped me there as she (it sounds like a she) sits on her gold. I was not expecting that!

I was a bit stuck with the shepherds so I had to look at a guide to realise that I wasn't trapped and that I could walk out. I couldn't figure out how to camouflage myself so I looked for help there as well, but overall all this week was better than last week. I'm intrigued to find out what happens next.

Bit stuck in the glassblowers guild. I think I know what to do. I've got to get to somewhere I've been before but I can't remember how I got there. Paths aren't particularly clear.

Blasted through this a bit! (Once I remembered how you got to the top of the tower in the Glassblowers guild)
Just finished wandering around the volcano. May have gone a bit too far?
If so this game feels quite short!

Some of the puzzles are quite intuitive, but it feels that with some, I've just had to play through the drafts until I hit the right one. Fortunately that is just a few.
Also I have far more many drafts than I can play! It's quite hard when you have a draft you've just heard and you're not sure where on the staff it corresponds to. Would be good if the staff lit up.

Enjoying it though! :D

Adventures often are quite short, if you've finished them before. I seem to recall that I got the Speedrun achievements in both Special Edition Monkey Island games without trying.

I have actually hit (and gone through) The Volcano too.

I am holding at the bit just after that though, with the sleeping guy on the edge of the cliff.

I didn't realise it was this short, so maybe we will finish sooner than anticipated. Not that this is a bad thing. I am enjoying it. The game has alot of personality, and although the puzzle solutions can sometimes be a bit obscure, I feel at ease knowing that I have all the tools available to me in the form of Drafts.

However, and this tallies with what you guys have been saying, but a few times I have been really stuck in an area, having gone through all my Drafts to try and solve a puzzle, then realised that actually, I can just walk off screen to the next area  It's not always clear that you can do so, as it will be walking off behind an obscure rock or thin path.

Are you guys playing on Standard like me?

The quality of the voice acting is very impressive.

Expert, but I've played it before, and really all it does is remove a lot of the "assists", like the note names.
Which probably wouldn't really add much challenge if not for the fact I have the musical ability of the average half-brick.

I've never played this before but I think I'm playing on expert. Does that make the staff blank then and it shows something on easier settings? Fortunately I'm musical so can get by most of the time.
Mocky's stopped at the same point as me!

IIRC the difficulty settings can also make the distaff show notes that are being played, as they're being played. Like the way the Great Loom at the beginning of the game will echo the drafts you play.

I managed to get through nearly all of this week's part without looking anything up. I decided to look up the draft I needed in the room with the sword forging because listening to the same two conversations was getting a bit old, despite the excellent voice acting.

It seems that the Bishop is expecting Bobbin to use his distaff to escape, much like I expected to do. I wondered why Bobbin was allowed to keep it but I guess all will be revealed next week!

Going back to this week, I wasn't expecting the dragon to eat Rusty! Poor guy!

Such a good little adventure. I guess it must have sold pretty badly not to get a sequel.

So, what are we supposed to be playing this week? Is it the volcano or finale?

Loom was conceived as the first game of a fantasy trilogy. The second game, Forge, would follow the adventures of Rusty Nailbender as he tried to regain control of the Forge, which was hijacked by Chaos in the first game. Bobbin was going to appear every now and then (as a swan) to offer help and advice, kind of like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Empire [The Empire Strikes Back] and Jedi [Return of the Jedi]. At the end of Forge, Rusty drives Chaos out of the Forge, but not before the gentle land of the Shepherds is conquered and nearly destroyed in a terrible battle. (The floating Forge ends up falling directly onto the Shepherds' pastures.)
The third game, The Fold, followed the adventures of Fleece Firmflanks, who teams up with Rusty to resist the evil forces that are camping in the Shepherds' territory. Bobbin again offers occasional help and advice. At the climax of the game, Bobbin, Bobbin's mother and Hetchel return to Earth along with the entire Guild of Weavers, and all of the other Guilds join for a final challenge to Chaos. Working together for the first time, their combined magic banishes Chaos back into the Void, and the healing of the world can begin. Rusty and Fleece get married, and Bobbin becomes the head of the Guild of Weavers.
Contrary to popular belief, the Loom sequels were not abandoned because Loom didn't sell well. Loom has sold more than half a million copies in various formats since it was published in 1990. The reason the sequels weren't made is because I decided I wanted to work on other things, and nobody else wanted to do them, either.

That's a shame because this has been a surprisingly enjoyable game. The voice acting and music is amazing. It's a shame that there isn't any background music, as things can be to quiet at times, but it's still a wonderful experience.

I just finished this as I was away from my PC last week and I never got around to playing it when I got back earlier this week.

I was surprised to see Cob remove himself so easily. I actually thought that nothing would happen to him and that he'd just let Bobbin go on his merry way to use the caged green beast/dragon to take out the Bishop. It was surprising seeing Chaos come into the world and take out the Bishop but that wasn't as surprising as seeing Bobbin fall into the hole after being startled by the somehow freed beast/dragon.

I managed to get through most of the final part without any help but I did need some guidance to work out that, when confronting Chaos in front of the Loom, the Loom itself gave me the drafts that I needed to play. It's a shame that Hetchel wasn't revived by Bobbin after being burned by Chaos but at least Bobbin saved Rusty. Reuniting Bobbin with his mother was a great touch and it means that Bobbin still has someone friendly while Hetchel is a mere feather.

It's a shame that the story wasn't concluded and that the next parts were never made. I actually thought that Bobbin would somehow get the black dragon from earlier to take out Chaos but it looks like something bigger will/is supposed to happen Let's kickstart it to find out!
