I've received some interest in another GGC GRplayde since the Retro branch is running so swimmingly under the captaincy of Parksey.

It will be the same jig as last time round, for you newbies who don't know what that was;

A bunch of intrepid adventures set of on a quest to save the seaside town of Rogueport from the evils that lay behind The Thousand Year Door. We set ourselves weekly goals that as a group we overcame together, we offered advice to one another, we kept morals high with tales of our battles and it was all tremendous fun. At the end our journey had brought us closer together and badges of honour were handed out and worn with pride, many of us can regularly be found in the local tavern regaling our friends of the exotic locales we visited and the bounds of brotherhood that were fused on that noble quest.

I'm keen to get everyone involved in the last playde to at least consider signing up again. We won't be having a vote on which game to pick as, well we all know what happened last time. Instead we'll just get some suggestions and come to some kind of consensus, hopefully a peaceful one.

To get the ball rolling I've got some ideas in mind:

Metroid Prime - Wiimade trilogy is out on Friday, could be the perfect excuse to experience the joy all over again with the bonus of the best FPS controls ever. Also has the benefit of handy checkpoints and collectibles.

Okami - The thread today seems a lot of people never finished this, shamefully I am one of them also it's availability on two consoles is good for people looking to buy.

Paper Mario - Needs no explanation

Super Mario RPG - The granddaddy of Thousand Year Door

Professor Layton and The Curious Village - The sequel to this is out at the end of September so now seems like a good time to replay this little gem, the amount of puzzles can help provide handy checkpoints, it too has little extras and group head scratching is always fun.

A couple of other ideas; Lost Winds  , LOZ Four Swords  , Super Mario Sunshine, Uncharted.

That's more than enough suggestions to be getting on with, I don't really want everyone coming in with new ideas because then we just get each new poster advocating for their own game and being disappointed when it doesn't get chosen.

Sign Ups and Suggestions begin here

Metroid Prime without a doubt.

Okami is too bloody long.

Good stuff.

As for the main nominations, I fancy playing Super Mario RPG as I never got round to finishing that.

Okami is something I've never played before, and seeing as it seems quite highly rated I wouldn't be opposed to that either, whilst I love a good play of Papes every now and then.

I might be interested in a Metroid play through. You say handy checkpoints? I like the sound of that.

(Wouldn't this technically be Round 3 by the way?)

I don't know what you're talking about.

I thought Metroid would be way more popular, than it is appearing to be.

Super Mario RPG

A million times better than any of the Mario games released. Lots of charm, fun gameplay, and it's not one of the shite Paper Mario games either. (I'd like to mention the n64 Paper Mario is actually very good, it's just that none of the other ones are).

I hate Mario games. But this game I loved.

Super Mario RPG- I'd like to go through this one, I've enjoyed the Mario RPG games in the past.
May be limited by the number of wii owners, though.

Metroid Prime- Would be a good choice, though again, may be limited by the numbr of wii/GC owners. I probably wouldn't participate though, as I'd want to go through the whole trilogy together and I'm not bringing the wii to Uni.

Okami This would be my favourite title for playde. Put a few hours into it a week or two ago, and it's great. Most people would have either a wii or a PS2, so most people should be able to get a hold of it.

Lost Winds- Limited by the number of wii owners, and it's very short too. Maybe do a GRplayde evening of it at some point.

Skies of Arcadia- Available on GC (& wii) and DC, but hard to get a hold of. There would be a lot of people who want to go through this, however.

Pikmin 2- Wii and GC version, would be enjoyable, but again, limited by number of wii owners.

Professor Layton
- I would assume that most people have a DS, and the game's readily available. I'd be up for a play of this.

I would also to have a playde for: (some of these may go in retro)
Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy
Zelda: OOT/MM/LttP
Super Metroid/Metroid Fusion
Grim Grimoire
Kingdom Hearts 1/2/CoM
Mario and Luigi
Sly Raccoon
Jak and Daxter
Golden Sun
