I want Fallout 4 like I can't even describe.

Yeah but none of the people who made NV worse will be working on 4, it'll be back to the turgid writing and design of 3

I'm confused are you saying NV is worse than 3, if so why describe the writing of 3 as turgid?

Personally I preferred NV, writing, characters, quests all magnificent. However the joy of exploration and the iconic location was more fulfilling in 3 (felt more apocalyptic but then NV explains why it wasn't as nuked!)

I have no idea where "worse" came from, I'm assuming I was typing a post somewhere else and put a word from there here :fp:

Biggest problem of 3 for me (aside from the endless metro tunnels) was how trashed it was, Fallout is a series set decidedly after the apocalypse.
It's 80 or so years after the event in the original and life has already begun to move on. In fallout 3 it's TWO HUNDRED YEARS since the apocalypse but it looks like it happened yesterday in the majority of the game's areas.
What's even more grating is that the exceptions are the stupid as strawberry float bomb town and places which basically got missed by the bombs; the game fails to convey any real sense that the humans have moved on since then; they really didn't do enough with vault 101 to create a contrast between a society that's lived in mostly isolation since the nukes and the outside world which has developed on its own.

In regards to exploration I was genuinely put off by all those massive piles of rubble blocking off most of the overground (to force loading screens between areas), felt like the invisible walls of games from an earlier era except you could now see them. Most of my issues with Fallout 3 are things that only really stuck out to me after playing when I reflected on the game but those blockages straight up killed my immersion when playing.

NV was much better in that regard by gating you in slightly more subtle ways and by having non-scaled enemies off the beaten path to brutalise you if you tried to go to end game areas at early levels (this was especially good because the player could actually make it through these areas with enough skill/planning/trial and error/luck)

Fallout 3 is my favourite single-player game. Ever.

New Vegas was, for me, equally brilliant but I've not yet completed it. I suspect that Falllout 4 won't live up to my unrealistic expectations, but I'll be totally thrilled to find out.

I doubt we'll see a remaster of any games by Bethesda to be honest. They'll probably hand the reins to someone else.

But Fallout 4 is pretty much nailed on.

Get it finished! NV is probably my favourite SP game of all time. It feels like that's saying a lot, even allowing sufficient weighting to take rose-tinted specs into account.

I was a late-starter for Fallout 3 and, after working through the game and the DLC, I think I roared straight into New Vegas and got a little burnt out.

You're right, Poser, I really do need to re-visit NV and complete the journey.

I never reached every location, and it still feels like an itch that needs to be scratched.

Also, I believe it's possible to find Area 51 and a crashed alien spaceship. I want to say the North West of the map. I really want to see that, too.

Edit: that might be a mod and not possible to find. Ah well.

Fallout 4 is all I care about unless they plan Dishonored 2. Fallout 4 gameplay footage and a release date of Christmas this year I'd probably spunk my breeks.

Would love a skyrim remaster on consoles and fallout 4 released this year.

Bethesda accidentally stream their E3 2015 Rehearsal on twitch, audio only - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IRsdy0WLQU

Bethesda Accidentally Announces Dishonored 2 Announcement

An accidental open mic broadcasting live to Bethesda’s Twitch stream picked up a discussion about Dishonored 2 being presented during the company’s E3 press conference. Ooops.

The discussion, captured in part in the YouTube video below (audio only), discusses a presentation by Harvey Smith, co-director of the first Dishonored, who moved to France following its 2012 release to work on a follow-up with Arkane Lyons. The speaker with the French accent is Raph Colantonio, president of Arkane.

What we’re hearing is Colantonio and others discussing an announcement bit in which he begins speaking in French, only to be interrupted by Smith in mid-sentence. Colantonio is being given instructions to continue speaking rather than stop after the first sentence, as his speech is so fast the scripted interruption felt unnatural. It’s a candid peek behind the scenes at how these big E3 pressers are put together.

If you listen to the end of the recording you can hear someone informing the speakers that a live mic is broadcasting to Bethesda’s Twitch stream.

We expected a Dishonored 2 announcement tomorrow evening, and now we know it’s happening.

There won't be many real surprises this year, will there? :(

I listened to the recording and it sounded like he was saying that he's honoured to be there. I'm still expecting Dishonored 2 to appear at the conference.

It would be awesome if they announced that all the people who bought Wolfenstein: The New Order will be able to play the Doom 4 beta when they put that code in that site last year starting tomorrow! Pipe dream but awesome all the same.
