I remember one of our substitute teachers back in P7 did something similar, except it was a "BMW" on the board, which I think stood for something but I've no idea what it was now.

Except instead of deterring us, it ended up causing people to race to try and get in the driver's seat, and then someone tried to call shotgun etc...

Kinda backfired, but I suppose it made the messing more of a harmless amusement that anything malicious so maybe it did actually work and we never realised we were falling for it.
