I also like the art style in the "it's all your fault" scene.

The commentary is Dead Putting Society is so world class.

I use "It has a chance" and "The winner will drink naught be champagne" in real life.

Best scene of the episode is Charlene the putter though.

"Mr Putter", "Mom", "I'll show you who Charlene is", "Hi Bart!"

Am I the only one heeping up with this or something?
Anyway always had a mixed feeling about Itchy & Scratch & Marge. It's not a funny episode but I do love the bit where Itchy & Scratchy drink lemonade. I think Itchy & Scratchy & Marge is a better episode in the context of the time when it was released, it isn't as effective 20+ years later.

I've also watched them all. I watched today's episode when I went to bed after changing the topic title just after midnight so I didn't post about it.

It's another great episode with a meaningful story that leads to some interesting moments like:

Psycho Maggie
"My baby beat me up"
Roger Myers Jr calling Marge a screwball in his otherwise formal letter
The protest signs
Marge the squirrel
Krusty on Smartline
"Lemonade?" "Please"

EDIT: I still think that the episode is effective in showing how children let TV, or other forms of electronic entertainment take over their lives, as well as violence in various forms of media. You're right when you say that it was more effective 20 years ago, but I feel that this is mainly because TV was the biggest source of entertainment back then. The episode still works well today if you see TV cartoons as a symbol for video games, as well as shows on TV and the internet.

When I was younger, I never saw the significance of Lionel Hutz' question to his secretary about phone calls. When I saw this more recently, I was able to see the bigger picture. I like the back and forth between Burns' lawyer and Marge when she's on the stand, especially when he's quietly addressing the points Marge is saying to her self, for example when talking about Bart missing school.

Something came to my mind when I was watching this as part of GRwatched: would the Simpsons have to give Hutz half the money if they settled? If not, Homer really should have taken the money.

Bart gets hit by a car has never really clicked with me. It's nice seeing the Lionel Hutz debut knowing that he would be one of the best characters to have graced the entire series.

One Fish I always get a few giggles out of but it's more of a feel good episode more than anything about how we take life for granted.

The Way He Was, now that episode is one of my favourites, every time I watch it I wish the series had ended around season 12 because then the simpsons back story wouldn't have been completely tarnished like it has been in new episodes.

I love the music at the start of Homer vs Lisa and the 8th Commandment. The one that plays at the opening of the Bible flashback. The stealing cable pamphlet is hilarious  I love how Bart comments what happens in different films, especially when he calls John McClane, Die Hard :slol: Also, I never noticed Jimbo stealing fruit in the background when Marge was eating grapes. That part of the show was great as it was but this just shows how awesome these older shows are.

This, like Marge v Itchy & Scratchy, works well today but the message has to be directed to something a little different. In this case, it's internet piracy, not stealing cable.

That was definitely a great episode. The Simpsons

Homer vs Lisa. I'm not going to even address the irony of me watching it online.

Principal Charming. I forgot this episode even exist I haven;t seen it in so long. I can't remember the last time I saw it on television. It's not really a memorable episode at all except for the "Homer Sexual" joke. It's funny , I thought I knew the first 8 seasons off by heart and could identity an episode within the first 60 seconds but I guess some episodes get lost in time.

I enjoy Homer's Terminator vision and when Bart says that he has Skinner in his pocket (OWTTE) I'm always reminded of that bit in the episode where Bart works for Fat Tony and he puts some money in Skinner's pocket and pats him on the cheek to send him on his way  I'll be sure to watch that episode, along with Oh Brother and Bart's Dog during the day.

I'm ashamed to say that the irony of watching Homer vs Lisa didn't occur to me, even when I typed that post about it :slol:

I'm watching Oh Brother, Where Art Thou and I just saw the McBain bit. Are all the other clips in season one or were they just aired non-sequentially?

Just finished Old Money. A beautiful, charming episode. The animation in the pill eating scene is sublime.

Yeah, it's a very charming episode especially the ending which I had completely forgotten about.

Lincoln, Lincoln, I've been thinking,
What the hell have you been drinking?
Is it water? Is it wine? Oh my God, it's turpentine!
