The amount of people who post stuff like "fix your game" or "why don't they just...[insert something hard to program]" is frustrating

I don't even know how to make games but I've watch enough videos of people who do to know that it's WAY more complex than people think.

The worst ones for me are the people who are crowing, as if somehow R* deserve this to happen because it's been so long since GTA V. As if GTA Online and RDR2 weren't massive projects in their own right. They honestly believe this is the result of almost a decade of work and that because it looks as bad as this (When they have no concept of how development works) and they're still waiting for GTA VI that R* had it coming.

Seriously self-important, entitled strawberry floating children.

Honestly for it to look that good pre-alpha I'm stoked to see more of it in a year or so.

At least Vice City has been confirmed as a result I suppose, although the shock at seeing it in a trailer would have been better.

It looks like contemporary Vice City though. Can't say there is a more boring concept after GTA 5 apart from a game set in modern Miami. It's going to be GTA 5, but more flat.

Imagine if they got Ray Liotta back and just did Vice City 2 set in the early 90s ripping on all the early 90s cringe stuff.

GTA 5 was like the pinnacle of how a GTA game should be when set in the modern day. Doing another set in 2022 just makes unfavourable comparisons even easier.

That said, if they are really doing a modern day Bonnie and Clyde, with bank jobs replacing heists, I'm pretty sure Rockstar will make an awesome game.

My worry is that they'll be more focused on catching lightning in a bottle twice with a GTA Online 2 and the single player elements will be stripped back from what we got in GTA V since most resource is going to be focused on multiplayer rather than story content.

They could expand it from Miami into wider Florida with the Everglades and maybe throw in some Carribbean islands. Might be a bit Red Dead Redemption 2 though.

How about a full scale Disney World theme park?

Oh, there's no doubt we'll be seeing the Everglades. We already have the Keys, after all. A full-on theme park, though... I'd want to see interaction with the entirety of it should it exist. Multiple rollercoasters able to be ridden, along with other rides. Have part of the story even take place there. After all, if you're going to create an area as detailed as you'd expect a theme park to be, you'd want to take people there. But I certainly wouldn't expect explosions to be happening there.

I've been playing Liberty City Stories and man I hope they bring back all of the vehicle side missions like vigilante, paramedic and firefighter. This is really reminding me how they and things like them were missing in GTA V.

Oh, God yes. Taxi missions were the only ones that remained, and that's probably only because they made it a business you could own. Even if it's not realistic, it needs to happen. They were so good to enjoy as a bit of side content.

I would estimate that more than 50% of my play time on GTA3 was on paramedic, police, firefighter and taxi missions. Loved that stuff :wub:

Rumours abound that GTA 6 will launch in the period April 2024 to March 2025:

IGN, commenting about a financial update released by Take-Two, wrote:Looking ahead, Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our Company," the release states. "For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success. In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering even higher levels of operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond."

While Take-Two doesn't explicitly name Grand Theft Auto here, it's hard to imagine any other franchise doing this work for them.
