GTA 6' Will Be This Generation's Only Rockstar Game, Says Insider

After everything they've recently done for V Online to make it more solo or friend-group friendly, I'd hate if VI Online were to follow the Red Dead Online approach of having very little in the way of that kind of thing. It might make them less from Shark Card sales, but I have a feeling GTA+ will be pushed in a big way for the start of VI Online, with much greater rewards coming from it than you get from the V Online offerings.

I also don't think there's much to worry about in terms of story mode, since even though the focus has been with Online, the story stuff for Online is always great. When it's there. We'll see come Christmas when the next big update supposedly arrives.

Definitely. For better or for worse, I suspect that more games will go down the path of monthly payments - whether that be a subscription or a "battle pass". I'm kinda in that zone already as I'm currently paying for F76 (annual) and FFXIV (monthly) which means that I tend to focus upon them more than other titles.

For some games they'll rake in even more cash whilst we'll probably see more "failures", too, as the idea reaches saturation point i.e. when people just don't have the money to pay out for multiple games.

Few positives. I like the statement about not punching down. As much I personally don't like it when politics are clumsily inserted in videogames (with exceptions) I dislike the edgy anti-PC stuff and GTA 5 seemed to be one of the worst offenders. I know GTA was meant to be 'satire' but that didn't make the misogyny and racism any less depressing or the torture any less disturbing (and unjustified with a very adolescent message). I don't want it to completely remove the satire and take itself too seriously (the bits I've seen of Watchdogs 1, the protagonist does horrendous, revenge fantasy things and the game implies its somewhat morally justifiable and never acknowledges the games inherent ridiculousness) - I still want to be able to go on a rampage if I want but a RDR2 style honour system that rewards nicer behaviour would be....nice :shifty:

I honestly feel removing some of the racist tropes will make for a better experience, its still ok if the characters are pieces of gooseberry fool, but I would like the videogame equivalent of Breaking Bad or the wire; characters on the wrong side of the law and morally comprised, possibly unlikeable but complex and with a story that has something to say.

A lot of gameplay clips are leaking everywhere for this.

The café hold up scene has great looking lighting, seriously realistic. But animations and Driving style are still janky af. Classic GTA style.

I hope it’s a proper next gen game and not another PS4/Xbox One compatible outing.

It looks good in some ways; the detail in the environments and the draw distance when outside. The speech and movement is better than before. I'm not sure what I expected but, yep, it sure is GTA. I guess we don't know how old these clips and images are. Still doesn't - imho - look as impressive as some of those GTA mods for PC made by enthusiasts, though.

Holy gooseberry fool, the whole source code has leaked? Thats pretty major. Someone is getting sued to oblivion.

I'm not gonna be watching any of this, but I'm going through the GTA Forums thread about this, and it certainly is legit. Whole load of source code confirmed as real.

Allegedly from 2021, so still pretty early in development. Still got at least a couple of years of development and polish to go, this is likely pre-Alpha.

This year's saints row looks like more fun that the GTA6 leaks. Clunky and cinematic is nothing compared to an open fun world.

Looks great!! Animations and character models are clearly unfinished/placeholder but the rest actually doesn't look too far off.
