Use grenades or firebombs.

I destroyed my last camera today. 8-)

I've been playing this a fair amount. At first I thought it was pretty basic, what with the top down view. But after a while you get into it, and realise there's a whole lot of game here. And there's moment which are just geniusly immersive. Like when you drive past a toll booth - The bottom screen shows the place where you throw the money in, but it moves in relation to where you are on the top screen. It sounds simple but it's a great touch.

Sorry if it's old news...

GTA: Chinatown Wars goes PSP

Rockstar's just confirmed that excellent Nintendo DS GTA, Chinatown Wars is heading to PSP. Full release follows.

New York, NY - June 22, 2009 - Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is pleased to announce that one of the highest-rated handheld games of all time, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, will be making its way to the PSP (PlayStationPortable) handheld entertainment system. Developed by the award-winning studio Rockstar Leeds, in conjunction with series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be available at retail on UMD and digitally from the PlayStationNetwork in North America and Europe this fall.

"We're proud to extend this truly unique handheld Grand Theft Auto experience to PSP and offer a downloadable version of Chinatown Wars for PSPgo," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "Rockstar Leeds has shown incredible talent in creating games that raise the bar in terms of depth and innovation on portables, and with Chinatown Wars we have a rich, fast-paced, and incredibly addictive entry into the series."

"Rockstar's work with the GTA series has been an enormous part of the success of PlayStation platforms," said Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We're excited to welcome the critically acclaimed Chinatown Wars to the outstanding line-up of great games headed to the PSP platform this fall."

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars follows the story of Huang Lee, a young Triad who travels to Liberty City after the mysterious death of his father. Within the game, players will navigate their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a true trademark of the franchise. Specifically built for the PSP platform with upscaled widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation; and including all-new story missions; this version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will take full advantage of the power of the PSP system.

Or alternatively...

Chinatwon Wars without dual/touchscreen controls, probably not as good.

Don't get me wrong, if you don't have a DS (and you do have a PSP), theres no doubt its good news. Just not sure its the version you should be interested in if you have both, it'll depend how they adapt it for controls and if they make the best use out of the higher resolution widescreen the PSP has.

Or that a new system launching with a new GTA makes a lot of sense?

I don't know, you think if it'd sold a load on DS, they would have been any less likely to want to make more money from it out of the PSP market?

Started this a few days ago, as Aaron said, at first it seems really basic but you soon realise how much the game offers not long into it. The touch screen features (Car jacking, making Molotov's etc) are really neat too.

I only wish there was some soundtracks to drive around to.

It does, actually.

I loved Chinatown Wars. Looking forward to playing it again on PSP, if I'm honest.

I didn't even bother with Chinatown wars for the DS. Now that I know it's coming to the PSP, my interest levels have shot through the roof.

You are part of the problem. Chinatown Wars was one of the best games on the system.

I didn't pirate it. I prefer gaming on my PSP. I use my DS for Phoenix and Layton.

I wonder if the PSP version will have fully voiced cutscenes? I know the limitations of the DS cart prevented it originally, perhaps Rockstar will add it to help make up for the loss of the touch-screen interaction?

Either way, I'm looking forward to it :D
