To be fair, I think once you're in a clan that wants to do raids and/or PvP together, they are more interested in good players and less interested in what gender they are. I only played WoW with friends, though.

Confusing who said what again, Silva?

I dunno, maybe I've just been wading in the Internet too long, but I just really don't give a gooseberry fool what a vast majority of online people say. Maybe that's part of the problem. We're so used to it that we just tune it out and if people want to be heard they just shout louder.

But it seems to me that everyone is a bigot about something.

I'm not sure about the fighting game tournament thing though. I'd definitely draw a line between stupid gooseberry fool said online and stupid gooseberry fool said face-to-face.

This is part of the internet fuckwad theory really - people you meet online are just a gamertag with a voice, they aren't "real people" to you. Couple this with someone who is generally an abrasive moron leads to the kind of stuff that goes on.

Objectification on a massive scale, performed by humanity as a whole simply as a means of dealing with the scope of the world, and indeed the universe. Makes sense. Reminds me of some of Dougas Adams observations about mental filters.
