Definitely! While it won't go that way every run, having cast as an option should make things easier for you for sure.

I’ll probably focus the use of my darkness elsewhere to start, but probably will delve a little into the casting side of things, not had chance to play any today sadly to try and get past room 33.

Not sure if it’s because I’m tired or what but my last couple of runs have not ended well, Meg’s sisters have caught me off guard after I’d got Meg down to the point where I could get through with minimal health loss, which meant I started the fire section with full health.

Edit, switched back to the sword as that had a 20% boost for darkness, beat the Minotaur and I’m guessing my first crossing with Death in Elysium…… ok just got to the actual boss, Theseus! Let’s see how this goes :dread:

Edit 2, mere moments after my last edit, I’m dead  the Sword is nowhere near as fun as the shield so far, need to try the bow and spear as and when a 20% bonus comes on.

Making good progress!

A general tip for the boss of Elysium: Try to make sure the minotaur is gone before Thesus reaches 50% health.

He's a tough cookie but definitely beatable!

Using the bow now, got up to the boss of Elysium with little issue, got lucky with some boons, auto fire at the cost of power shot, plenty of upgrades to my attack and special in general, plenty of health upgrades too, found someone who offered 3 options, one of which was to refill my death defiance, probably got a better chance of getting into he 4th area this time. The bow has still yet to match the shield for fun factor though.

Edit, got so bloody close! Probably a couple of hits short, obviously I’d not have made it far into the 4th area but still, obviously the God Mode resistance is building up a little now :shifty:

Edit 2, thought I’d try the spear, I am not a fan of the spear.

Sorry for the double post, but best way to get Titan Blood? Had 4 from clearing the first boss with a few weapons but not found it anywhere else.

Edit, once again so close to getting out of Elysium  Theseus just wrecks me when he calls on a fellow god to rain down hell on me.

Edit, 2, another run and another failure at the end of Elysium

You don't get much Titan blood until later in the game. I think the 3rd boss also gives you Titan blood every time you beat him with a new weapon or (later game mechanic spoiler) difficulty, same as the first.

Just finally managed to beat the boss at the end of Elysium anyway! :toot: Feel like I got lucky with the god he summoned, was the archer one so was easy to just stick to the outside walls of the area before waiting for an opening and getting an attack in or two along with a shield throw. Nearly thought I had to fight me beloved pet then too

Its a shame about the titan blood, with how much I’m struggling I can’t see myself making it harder to get more blood  I have just seen you can buy some, but its 1200 coin which I definitely don’t have!

Don't worry too much about the Titan blood right now! It's basically used as a post game mechanic. And you'll be flying through the harder difficulties in no time! There's definitely a tipping point of accumulated upgrades and knowledge where the game starts feeling much easier!

I’m taking a short break after getting to the 4th area (well I assume it’s the 4th area), hands were shaking when I beat Theseus and co

4th area mixes things up a bit, it's a nice change of pace. Just keep dashing and note the position of the anti poison fountains in each room when you get in.

Sounds fun :dread:

Is there a spike in the rest of the game like Theseus and Minotaur? Felt like that was a big step up to the rest of the game so far really.

The final boss I guess.

First time you fight them you'll get demolished but after a few tries you'll have their pattern down. They have one attack that will probably hit you every time they do it the first few times, but once you get the timing down you'll probably never get hit by it again.

I found the 4th area pretty plain sailing other than tiny rodent lol

Guessing the attack for the last boss is the laser type one? I blocked it a few times with my shield but still succumbed to him  How many stages does he have? Got about halfway through stage 2 on my first attempt.

4th area was ok but slightly annoying, didn’t clock what the poison was before I’d lost my death defiance because of it :fp: I need 100 more darkness for a second one so will definitely save darkness for that next. This really is a terrific game, I’ll definitely be going for Hades 2 on day one, hope that has god mode too for when I inevitably need it

Dam, was so close! Reckon if I had a death defiance I reckon I’d have definitely done it, as I said I’m close to 500 darkness so will use it in a second one.

Hades is down :datass: I got good with the help of god mode

Didn’t need the extra death defiance in the end, one thing that helped was spending no money (unless desperate for health) until the last shop as a couple of the berries there allowed two level increases rather than one. Such a fantastic game, think I might give it a short break before trying to escape again! Plus I need to do the story bit after the boss fight anyway!

That feeling after the first escape :datass:

Nice work. There is a specific number of escapes required to hit the credits but there's plenty of post-credits story to uncover.

Seem to think someone on here mentioned 10 escapes? I’ve got 3 death defiance things now, so hopefully subsequent escapes won’t be quite as pressured!
