Makes a refreshing change from the usual "Yeah: We've designed this as a trilogy... unless we can squeeze out a few more" approach most publishers take.

To be fair, with Ubisoft doing that with Assassin's Creed, the extra home console entries certainly don't come as a bad thing.

Playing Half Life 2 at the moment, actually. Pure God-like genius, man. Where is Half Life 3, goddamn.

The old saying "always leave them wanting more" springs to mind.

Do you really think they are going to announce an announcement, if they do do it it will be a surprise.

Probably. So Gabe at the Nintendo conference with Half-Life 3 and Steam for Nintendo's next console then?

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was awesome and managed to make significantly improvements, so if a developer can do that then all power to them. If your problem is too many titles coming out too fast, well, no one is forcing you to play them on release. Not saying all developers should do the same thing, it's just that it seems to work for them.

That would make Project Cafe an absolute day 1 purchase.

I think they're most likely going to wait until the next console generation.

It's going to tie up the main story hopefully so I think they're trying to make it the best game possible.

I think they're waiting on the game idea that makes it worthwhile.

The best console version will be on Cafe, epic meltdowns would follow.

This is the one series where I really don't give a stuff about graphics as I just want them to finish the story. I'm playing through episode 1 again now and the graphics are more than adequate so just give the story closure and I will be happy.

Aren't they supposed to be doing Half Life 2: Ep3 rather than an actual Half Life 3?

The assumption is that Episode 3 has become Half Life 3.

The assumption is that Valve are actually doing something and Gabe Newell is not just laughing at each and every one of us.

While counting his vast fortune of hat money.
