I'm going to have to check Reach on my own TV tonight, just to see if I did dream up thia vaseline-o-vision motion blur.

EDIT: Thank you, Maf! \o/ I'm not crazy, then.

30" Panasonic Viera here, in 1080i.

Besides I don't think it matters, these things will have been tested in many different resolution by Bungie's test dept. As has been mentioned, the only time motion blur was noticeable in Reach was during the intro sequence of the first level when the falcons are circling and coming in to land.

Also in the link Maf posted on eurogamer it mentions 'impressive motion blur techniques' as if it were a technique implemented to make the game run smoother. I have to say having played through, and still playing Reach on a regular basis the only time I've seen this in a negative way has been the afformentioned first level intro. Either way I think to say it was incredibly bad is a massive overstatement.

If it ruined the visual experience for me, then I don't think it is.

It does have some motion blur. I've just never seen it as a problem.

Well, it does. Watch any cutscene in the game and it's very apparent. And it's completely unneccessary, that's the really annoying thing about it. There's absolutely no point in having it, it doesn't make it look more realistic, because no-one on earth motion blurs on every single tiny movement.

Just because it's a big game doesn't mean it should be immune to criticism. It had motion blur, it was rather annoying. Just accept it and we can all move on and hope that 343 have managed to fix it.

EDIT: @Photek, dammit, Anung!

Also:

I'm sorry Frank, but I just played campaign for over an hour lastnight and watched several cutscenes mid game and didnt notice ANY blur! Not during the game either .

LITERALLY NONE, AT ALL! 42" Samsung in 1080i.

Maybe my eyes need testing.

Many would disagree with you I'm sure.

Personally I didn't really enjoy ODST that much, it was nice when it first came out because the campaign was a different take on the Halo universe but ultimately I think the campaign was pretty forgettable, largely because it was so short. The way they told the ODST story was cool but IMO it also made the story feel a bit disjointed. Still atleast it introduced Firefight which seems to have become a Halo standard.

On a separate note, wht is that new Chief armor about? It looks almost completely different! Not sure I approve! :x

I played Halo 3 today. Almost everything about it online is better than Reach. However the thing is with Halo is flexibility and people like different things. I don't want them to completely eradicate stuff like AA's as much as the community absolutely hates them. So I think Halo 4 really needs custom games to have LOTS of customisability and there needs to be a Custom Game Browser akin to what was in Halo PC so people can play exactly what they want, when they want to play it.

Maybe he took himself out of cryo for a bit and found a locker somewhere on the Forward Unto Dawn which had a holdall full of Mjolnir parts. Lucky.

Or maybe they've just changed it because they need to sell a new range of toys.

GOOD JOB I LOVES THEM HALO TOYS!!

Is there not a chance that that's Chief from later in the game, after he's upgraded his armour a bit after finding new tech wherever he's actually got to? I didn't get a good look at the armour in the trailer.

Possible, it's hard to tell from the trailer due to lighting and how fast paced it is, but it does look as though it could be different to that shot above.

Doesn't explain how he managed to find that jet pack though.

EDIT: Where'd that shot come from Anung, I can't find it on Waypoint. Any wallpaper sized version?
