He's still got the scratch on the chestplate though. So it's probably just from 343 updating his look a bit, new engine and all that. Or fanart, maybe.

LITERALLY NONE, AT ALL! 42" Samsung in 1080i.

Maybe my eyes need testing.

Nope. None at all ;)

Doubtful, there's little my brother is OCD about more than picture quality.

Digital Foundry wrote:The disadvantages mostly make themselves known in the movement of large objects directly in front of the camera in cut-scenes, or in front of the player in-game. In the case of the latter, should a Spartan team-mate walk across your field of view, most of the screen can be taken up with an unattractive ghosting character. In the cut-scenes, the effect is far more pronounced: not only are characters often moving directly in front of the camera, but it's clear that these parts of the game have many frame-rate issues.

Guys not really the place to ask, but Im looking at reading some of the Halo books, is there any particular order I should read them in?

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Fall of Reach>First Strike>Ghosts of Onyx are really the only ones you should read in order. You can also read The Flood in between Fall of Reach and First Strike but thats just the story of Halo: CE fleshed out.

Be sure to read Halo: Cryptum, it's quite an important one and it's the start of a new trilogy written by Greg Bear called The Forerunner Saga. You can read the others first though.

Don't bother with The Flood; it's basically a load of poo. The additions to the story are pointless (Master Chief stops to have a shower, really?) and the action is boring.

Contact Harvest is a really good read, and fills in a lot of detail about the early war and about Sergeant Johnson.

The Cole Protocol is alright, but doesn't really impact the wider story at all.

Halo Evolutions is a collection of short stories and has some absolute crackers. It's all over the place in terms of the chronology, but it references characters from other books so you should probably read this last.

The Graphic Novels are ok too, there's 5 in total:

The Graphic Novel - This is a collection of 4 short stories, the art is fantastic, but probably not the best from a narrative perspective.

Uprising - This fills in the blank between Halo 2 and 3. Worth a read.

Bloodlines - This is about Spartan Team Black who stumble upon a forerunner installation, it has a pretty mental monitor like Guilty Spark. The story takes some weird turns and the Spartan team end up having to work alongside a team of Elites, but it's interesting to see that Chief wasn't the first to find a forerunner world.

Helljumper - This one is about Dutch and Romeo from ODST, it does a good job of showing their relationship with one another. It's worth reading this and then playing ODST.

Reach - Boot Camp & Covenant - These two are the Fall of Reach book re-told in comicbook form, that's no bad thing because Fall or Reach is absolutely fantastic.

Boot Camp and Covenant were released as two separate series, but Covenant follows straight on from Boot Camp, I don't really know why they split it into separate series.

There's some fantastic imagery in there though, well worth getting if you're a fan of Fall of Reach.

No, and there isn't one announced so far as I'm aware. Would be good though, I think a good artist could do some really cool things with Harvest.

Yes! There was one that came with the collector's edition of Halo Wars. There was also an excellent short story about him as part of Halo Evolutions (that's not a comic though).

They're calling this trilogy "The Reclaimer Trilogy", Forge has been confirmed.

I really hope this becomes a next gen project as it would seem the perfect launch game. Having a game with so much time poured into it would be amazing and Microsoft must have an idea about hardware performance that they are aiming for even if they don't have the final configuration sorted.

I think it will be, the fact that they've taken the unusual step of releasing pre-vis stuff to the public as opposed to producing a "graphics representative of game" trailer suggest there may be a very good reason they can't show so much as a screenshot of the game.

As it currently stands, with the things I've heard, I'd be banking on a new console coming out next Christmas. MS will keep 360 going with Kinect for casual players whilst running Xbox3 in parallel.

PCs are now at a point where they're producing visuals streets ahead of what's on consoles. Can anyone really see Microsoft waiting another 2 years to put consoles back on an even footing with PCs?

I don't think they will need the sort of cutting edge hardware that was in the ps3/360 to achieve a rather massive leap in performance this time. I think it's possible they can make a machine capable of mid to high end PC visuals and not be crippled by high production costs and massive losses in the first few years.
