The Grifball playlist is out today, spartan ops is actually getting pretty good. 1-5 was ok but 6 and 7 has been really fun  hoping it keeps this up :)

Yes Episode 7 is very good too. Two new maps, one big one that opens up new bits across 4 chapters which is very interesting. Some good objectives too. They have also seem to have struck a good mix with covenant/prothean enemies.

Has anyone opened up a specialisation yet? How does that work and what advantages are there? Im still at level 38

I've unlocked them all (level 130) It depends what your style is, You can have ability's that speed up your ordinance drop or change the things you get if you don't like them (its random), make your viechles stronger and recover from emp blasts quicker, stealth so you can't be tracked by promethian vision, one that gives you more xp per match, gunner lets you run faster with a mounted turret and takes longer to overheat and a nemesis one that puts an X over the persons head that just killed you so you know where they are but it only lasts a few seconds.
Personally i only use stealth and stability from the specialisations unless i play infinity slayer for a while then i might put the ordinance ones on to get weapons faster.

Ammo and Firepower for me in matchmaking, with the latter changed to Fast Track in Spops.

Ammo is so damn useful.

I think episode 7 of Spartan Ops is definately the best yet. None of the other episodes really grabbed me but I enjoyed 7.

Really into spartan ops at the moment but I prefer to play with just one other player rather than four as it's just too laggy.Episode 7 has been good so far.Liked the shootout in the engine room where the hologram comes in real handy.

Spartan ops ep 8. Very good. 5 different maps, but have been used once before in ep 6. They are good maps, open, sprawling and generally well featured. A good smattering of vehicles. Mainly covenant enemies with a handful of watchers - 343 seem to have finally found out that it is the covenant that make halo the game a success. They have also finally got back to adding the exp rewardable spartan ops challenges after a 2 week layoff. About time too. Im up to level 40 now.

This new season of spartan ops is very good. Exactly what the main campaign should have been - big open levels with 99% covenant enemies.

Spartan Ops has been a bit of a disappointment so far to be honest, there is such a disconnect between the FMV cut scenes and the actual gameplay. Episodes 1 to 6 were fairly dull, and insanely repetitive. That said Episode 7 has picked up considerably, and I'm actually starting to enjoy myself. Perhaps speaking too soon though.

Forget Spartan Ops, Multiplayer is :datass:

Got the season pass for DLC. First maps aren't too bad and I had an awesome moment where I jumped on one of the mechs and strawberry floated the guy up

Would anyone like to see my Halo athletic abilities in their full unending majesty? First up:

Ive just completed spartan ops episode 10. The last 5 episodes were largely better than the first. There is a slightly more coherent story to it, and the level designs lend themselves alot better to multiple paths and playthroughs. The fmv bits have set up season 2 tonot be on requiem, which is kind of odd really, although i suppose a completely new style of level design would be welcomed. The infinity bits on ep 7 were a good change of scenery and a highlight. I would like season 2 to be a mixture of human civ and on a halo structure, preferably without the promethans too, i would rather see a return of the flood.

Any news on when season 2 will be out? I might have to free up some hard drive space, because i would like to see double the number of maps next.

On the bit in Chapter 3 of Ep10, when you have to make it over to the Covenant ship, there was the voiceover going "there are some jetpacks around here somewhere" and there was me as he said it speeding past all the other players in a warthog, ramping off the cliff right into the ship. Good times.

Just finished the campaign, really enjoyed it. Do you need a gold membership to play spartan ops?
