Bug fixes for repeating cinematics  Hope that means I don't have to skip the "PREVIOUSLY ON HALO INFINITE" cutscene every damn time.

Further down the line we’ll be introducing the Forge AI Toolkit, which allows players to spawn and manage campaign AI in Forge. I think a lot of interesting experiences are going to spring out of that functionality – all with the potential to become a staple mode in Halo Infinite.”

Looking forward to seeing what the community can do with that.

So they're still cutting corners on their 1st party flagship IP.

It's pretty pathetic. I can't even remember when this game came out and it's still unfinished.

Maybe MS are hoping Starfield will become their platform's new poster child.

Good luck with that! :dread:

What's unfinished now? Halo Infinite right now has everything other Halo's had content wise.

and whats with the weird side jab at Starfield?

For what its worth I take zero notice of any GaaS games season update 'stories', they are all garbage.

I have no interest in Halo multiplayer narrative, I'd rather have had more resources put into multiplayer maps and some new single player content. Even though I love the gameplay, they really didn't manage this game well and their plan for post-release content sucked IMO. Good to see they're changing priorities now but I think it's probably too late for most people.

Halo used to be a system seller, MS must be hoping that Starfield will replace it in that regard and I think the hype will certainly shift a few units.

It's developed by Bethesda which can't be a good thing. If Starfield is good (I hope it is), then it will be despite being developed by Bethesda rather than because of it. It's an incredibly important and expensive new 1st party platform exclusive IP. It should be practically flawless at launch. Sony understand that, Nintendo understand that, but Microsoft don't seem to. Look at the state that Redfall was released in. It was (to use a technical term) 'dogshit'.

I thought they were still adding functionality to Infinite, but OK I've lost track and I guess GaaSs are never really finished are they? Keep following that 'road map' until the servers are switched off.

I did play the Halo Infinite campaign when it came out and it was pretty good although I had hoped to play it co-op with my SoT crew. It scratched that Far Cry itch without having to play Far Cry. Which was nice.

Fine for me- downloaded, played and forgot it. I think fans were and possibly still are a bit disappointed though. I think the active online player count supports that.

That's what I think.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I mean fair points but it looks like you haven't looked into the vast difference between Redfall and Starfield.

The diff:
Redfall was doomed from the start with 70% of the staff moved on towards the end and the majority of Arkane Austin wanting it to be cancelled. Todd Howards last 2 games he made with Bethesda are Fallout 4 and Skyrim, both critically and financial success's, especially in Skyrim's case. If you've watched the Starfield direct you know that they are making one of the most ambitious games ever made (watch it if you haven't).

Will it have bugs? with a world this big and a game with that many systems running of course it will, I don't believe they will be game/world breaking. Nintendo said they finished ToTK a year before it launched, guess what? Starfield was set to ship more than a year before its launch on Sept 1st so in that regard they have learned, they should have canned Redfall. They really can't be compared on any level other than they are owned by Zenimax who are owned by MS.

Xbox's ATG (advanced Technology Group) has also been part of the Starfield team as soon as the Bethesda deal was finalized. They didn't get to Redfall 'early enough' according to Phil Spencer (Xbox were too hands off to a fault imo). There's so many factors separating the games that I'm slightly baffled you ARE comparing them.

I am fully aware of the differences, but as the old saying goes "you're only as good as your last gig". Fingers crossed I guess. I skipped through the Starfield Direct - lots of developer cringe and, I suspect, yet more 'exaggerations' from arch-bullshitter Todd Howard.

Hopefully people will get their canvas bags this time.

RAYTRACED SUN SHADOWS FOR XBOX SERIES X|S CONSOLES

Players on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are now able to toggle Raytraced Sun Shadows from the Settings menu. When this feature is enabled, all shadows cast by the sun will appear more detailed in multiplayer gameplay. The Raytraced Sun Shadows option does not apply to the Halo Infinite Campaign.

In some situations, enabling this option may result in the framerate dipping below the selected Target Frame Rate value.

To enable Raytraced Sun Shadows, follow the steps below:

Launch Halo Infinite.
Navigate to Settings. The default bindings for which are the Menu button on controller and F1 on keyboard.
Navigate to the Video tab.
Scroll down to the Raytracing header and set the Raytraced Sun Shadows option to the preferred setting.
