If you get the Bandana skull, you get infinite grenades and ammo. Plus for most missions you can equip yourself with preferred weapons at a FOB on the way in.
Makes Legendary much more manageable. (I don't know if it impacts achievements)

I'll soon find out. I'm flying through the Missions on Legendary thanks to a full weapon choice at FOBs.
Legendary on Infinite is cruel in the open world bits between Missions. The fact that I can go to a FOB choose a good load out with full ammo, then jump into a mission makes it a lot simpler.

CUSTOM GAME BROWSER

Since the release of the Forge Beta with the Winter Update, just a month ago, the floodgates have well and truly opened to a barrage of incredible community-created maps and modes. For a look at some of our favorites, be sure to check out our Forge Features blog series.

Of course, in order to unlock the true potential of Forge and make these wonderfully unique experiences (which have long been such a definitive aspect of Halo) more accessible to everyone, we’re excited to announce that we’re debuting the V1 of the Custom Game Browser today—months ahead of our original target!

Previously scheduled to release in Season 3, we fully agree with players who felt that the Custom Game Browser should be a priority—it’s a key support structure for what players create in Forge and a pillar for the community.

The team worked incredibly hard to land this feature so much further in advance, but with that comes the caveat that this is a “V1.” It is therefore likely to have some rough edges, but we felt it was more important that we get this in the hands of players sooner rather than later. The CGB will, of course, continue to evolve with support over time.

ENTER EMPYREAN

The Pit has come to Halo Infinite!

This beloved map from Halo 3 has been officially rebuilt in Forge by the 343 Industries team and is now reborn as Empyrean.

As we continue to support Halo Infinite, we have been working to bring various fixes and improvements across the title which are directly aimed at addressing key areas of player feedback.

Here are a few notable callouts that have come with this update…

Mouse & Keyboard: Improvements have been made to mouse and keyboard input. This includes aiming improvements, enabling red reticle, adding a walk button (which has its own suite of custom options around speed and hold/toggle), and improvements have also been made to the mouse scroll wheel input.

Networking & Desync: Improvements have been made to networking, which should reduce instances of “desync.” Vehicles desycning, melee attacks not registering, and blank shots (due to fake reloads) should all see improvements with this update.

Player reporting: In-game player reporting has been added to the scoreboard (accessed during a match by pressing the Back button) and post-game carnage report. Players can also be muted from the Back button scoreboard.

Sandbox updates: Melee clang logic for the Energy Sword has also been updated—if both players have no shields and melee each other, both players will now trade melees and die in order to prevent the Energy Sword from tearing through teams without trading. Check out the details in our Sandbox blog.

Massive shame, there was potential to create something truly special with the single player framework they had in place.

Oh well, zero interest in the multiplayer for this so I guess it's another franchise to stick on the ignore list for me

Sounds like MS and 343 really don't understand where the issue is. The campaign was really good, probably the best since Reach (but not on that level) but was really let down by lack of co-op at launch. That was unforgivable.

The multiplayer was the real mess though. They didn't seem to have a vision aside from copy stuff from before but put in stupid restrictions, take stuff out and add stuff in constantly. It felt like it massively lagged behind the competition.

Ironically they should have copied Destiny for the multiplayer, gone open world with a crucible kind of mode for the classic Halo MP experience. Then they could have added Destiny style expansions to keep the game going for a number of years, but just avoided the Destiny 2 implosion where expansions got removed or the original stuff basically got deleted.

It's a wonder how they messed up the multiplayer so badly. That was probably the easiest thing for them to get right.

As I say, the campaign I really enjoyed. That wasn't where the real problem was.

strawberry floating useless :slol: Just another promise they've completely failed to stick to. You'd think such an enormous company would manage their teams a little better, but Microsoft seem shambolic at the moment.

MS have 3 big first party games releasing this year (that we know about), seems ok to me.

343i have already gotten rid of it's old leadership team who have quite obviously failed, the game shouldn't have taken this long to release.

Tatanka (Halo BR) is the only thing that can really save the MP, if it's actually good, I'll play it till the end of time.

The Crucible is strawberry floating terrible, the MP problem is merely down a severe to lack of content, it plays INFINITELY (teehee) better in MP than Destiny 2's crucible which is awful.

Couldn't even tell you what those three games are. Is one Starfield? It's more the games they've announced that have completely disappeared off the radar that I'm talking about. Rare showing Everwild without even having the faintest idea what the "game" part of their game actually was shouldn't have happened underneath any sort of management that actually took an interest in what they were spending their money on. They announced Perfect Dark, and then we've heard nothing further apart from the reshuffles they've had to try and get the game back on track. Couple that with the fact that Infinite was a year delayed and then released missing a bundle of franchise-essential features. It's not the best track record.

I'll give you Everwild as they announced that at the concept stage (way too early) and Rare have had massive success with Sea of Thieves which you're ignoring but Perfect Dark is coming along well by all accounts, a 70 strong team was formed from the ground up for that game and it's still has same dude leading it who brought in his old team from crystal dynamics to help them.

Microsoft 'seem shambolic' is a weird take when you don't actually know anything about Xbox Game Studios what so ever. Shambolic = 2021 Publisher of the year.

After a brief google it seems it's Starfield (delayed from last year), Redfall (delayed from last year) and Forza (shite)? One game that appeals, which I remembered, and two that I've got no interest in in the slightest.

You even say that I'm ignoring Sea of Thieves, when that, again, launched in a completely barebones (lol) form and it took them years to build it up to something approaching a complete package. That's shoddy management. They've got form for it.

2022 was indeed a sh*t show, no arguments on that score, Sea of Thieves did launch bare bones, but if turning a game around massively isn't good management in some sense then that's fair enough.

Forza sh*te, ok fair enough I guess? Not going to argue with your personal opinion on games man.

I think If I was making an argument for having bad form in management I'd point to most of the Xbox One's generation, up until One X and that they should have jettisoned 343's senior management years ago. :dread:

I think Gamepass or at least that team is managed well, as is the Hardware guys. Xbox One's first party decline was massive and they playing catch up ever since, I think they might get back to it this year, at least it's looking that way. Apparently strawberry floating Scalebound might be coming back from the dead also!

Redfall is something that people should absolutely be remembering. But it's from Arkane and will therefore be one of the best games of the generation that no strawberry floater plays
