343 job advert -

The Halo Game Services team is working on building the next generation of cloud services to power our new game saga on Xbox One.

In addition to working on Halo 5: Guardians, we work on all the projects within 343 Industries, including Spartan Assault, Halo Channel, and The Master Chief Collection. We drive new features into the Halo Universe with the help of our partner teams. Our team is also involved in projects across Microsoft to improve services infrastructure and gaming in the Microsoft ecosystem.

We are looking for a developer with a passion for building large scale distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Our team is focused on continuous improvement, including rapid deployment, and fast iteration cycles. The ability to work in an agile environment will be a key to success. We ship to customers regularly, and we believe that services should always be on the leading edge of enabling scenarios.

The team takes advantage of the best solutions available with cloud services running on Azure and integration of multiple new technologies including Orleans, Event Hub, and Azure Search.

If you are passionate about the challenge of building large scale, near real-time services and you’re looking to join a group of engineers who are pushing the envelope to reinvent how games are powered by cloud services, then this might be the job for you.

Won't be a surprise if at least part of Halo 5 having some Cloud stuff in it.

Having put up with MCC and then kind of falling in love with Halo all over again recently since its mostly fixed, I think im going to treat myself to whatever special edition I can get for this.

Genuinely excited about this now, enjoyed the BETA also so hoping both MCC and the new Halo5 mp can co-exist for a good while yet.

On Oct. 27, the hunt begins with the worldwide launch of Halo 5: Guardians, only on Xbox One. In an exclusive GameStop trailer released today, the UNSC’s elite manhunter – Spartan Locke – rips through Covenant opposition while in pursuit of the legendary Master Chief. Featuring new and classic weapons, a host of brand-new Spartan abilities that completely transform the way you engage enemies, and more, Halo 5: Guardians marks the greatest evolution in franchise history.

Fans who reserve Halo 5: Guardians at GameStop in the U.S. will get access at launch* to the pre-order exclusive Spartan Locke, HUNTER-class armor set for use in multiplayer**, including:

HUNTER-Class Armor: Sophisticated and lethal, HUNTER-class armor incorporates Watershed Division's latest warfighting technology.

HUNTER-Class Helmet: Though still considered a prototype implementation, the HUNTER's sensor suite enhances situational and threat awareness.

As someone who's gotten buried in every single piece of Halo lore and fiction. That's dozens of books, comics, web series, viral campaigns and so on...

I 100% agree with you.

MCC will be my first purchase. But I'm thinking if Spencer wants to get some sales momentum the Xbone Slim will come out this year rather than next. In time for Halo 5.

As we draw closer to the release of Halo 5: Guardians on October 27, 2015, fans around the world continue to unravel new details around the Xbox One exclusive.
As a continuation of the #HUNTtheTRUTH campaign that has captured the attention of fans through multiple live-action trailers (“All Hail” and “The Cost”) and an episodic audio series available on HuntTheTruth.tumblr.com – Xbox fans around the world came together to reveal the cover art for Halo 5: Guardians.

Last week, several cryptic images were released to various online channels across the globe…no instructions, no explanation, no references to the Halo universe. It didn’t take long for Halo Nation to scour the Internet to piece together the mystery to reveal the cover art for Halo 5: Guardians.

Today, we’re proud to release the final cover art for Halo 5: Guardians, including a special video version that highlights the Spartan fireteams that play a crucial role in the showdown between the Master Chief and Spartan Locke.

Who are these Spartans? This and many more mysteries will be uncovered as we draw closer to the world premiere of Halo 5: Guardians at E3 2015. Join us as we #HUNTtheTRUTH.

I agree. For whatever reason I really cannot stand Agent Locke though, despite Nightfall painting a fairly good picture of him. Everything I've seen of H5 so far paints him as a chest beating show off. I'd be happier if Buck were the one misguidedly hunting Chief, specially if ODST and Spartan II's don't get along. It's about time Chief got reunited with his squad also.

Buck was Nathan Fillion's character in H3:ODST (he was the leader of the ODST squad).

Blue team was the team Master Chief led right up until the battle for Reach (so right before Halo 1). They feature heavily in the Halo novels, but mainly the first one - Fall of Reach.

Even if you only have a passing interest in Halo, I'd recommend Fall of Reach, it's a brilliant sci-fi novel.

343 have got an interesting job on their hands. A lot of hardcore fans have been desperate to see Chief and his squad in a game so the last thing they'd want is to have that marginalised by this new comer Locke. I wonder will they go a similar route to Halo 2 and have Locke and Chief's adventures interchange or will they make two separate campaigns? Whatever they do, gameplay wise I hope they do give Locke and Chief's missions different feels to them, whether that means Locke's stuff being more action orientated or Chief's stuff more tactical (or vice versa).
