Blitzed through the Halo 1-4 campaigns over the past few months with my girlfriend, finally started Halo 5 today:

1) I forgot Buck was in this
2) I had no idea flipping Luke Cage was in this :o (but google tells me he's voiced by a different actor in this, which is strange)

The way it permanently highlights dropped weapons, but doesn't highlight anything else is a little weird. It's pretty much Halo, though. Do you only get the armour and other spartan customisation options through the collectible cards?

Why does it take up 97gig, though? :dread: just because you can doesn't mean you should

Collectable cards is not really how you get the custom options, you get Req points you spend on Decks of cards to give you weapons in warzone and different armour for all modes bar campaign.

Yeah it's a mad one why they've changed VA, he played Locke in Halo Nightfall which was Live Action but didn't change the VA.

Frankie said on GAF -

Mike got offered (IMO) the role of a lifetime from Marvel, and so we either held him to our schedule or rejoiced in the idea of a live action Luke Cage TV series and let him fly free like a gold-shirted eagle.

And Ike was one of our original choices and has a wonderful voice. So everything worked out beautifully for everyone.

Checking out the achievement list I thought it might be quite a long game as there's 15 missions. Then I played mission 4 :slol: Literally just wandering around a little camp eavesdropping on people.

This Spartan charge thing is my new favourite thing:

343i Acknowledges Halo 5 Storytelling Mistake, Will Double Down on Master Chief Focus

Franchise Director Frank O’Connor -

"We took some digs for storytelling in Halo 5, but they were absolutely merited. We very much realized that people wanted Master Chief’s story of Halo 5.

We definitely marketed in a way that we hoped was going to bring surprise, but for some fans and certainly fans of Master Chief, it was a huge disappointment because they wanted more Chief.

They loved Blue Team, they liked Osiris, but they wanted Chief. And that has been a big learning. Chief we tend to think of as kind of a vessel for your adventure rather than necessarily this major character in the universe. He’s really just your entry into the universe.

But people have become attached to him over the last fifteen years and they’ve started to sort of fill in the gaps that the character deliberately has for gameplay reasons with a genuine emotional attachment. We certainly underestimated that with Halo 5.

The effect that the character has on his surroundings and ‘the fate of the galaxy’ has had a resonant effect on fans over the years. It wasn’t that surprising to me, but the volume of ‘give us more Chief’ at the end of Halo 5 was significant and so I think if anything he’s slightly more important now than he has ever been, certainly to our franchise. Instead of focusing on bringing new characters into the world and expanding the playable characters we’ve sort of shifted the focus a little bit to making the world a little bit more realistic and compelling and, I would say, more fun for players who get to inhabit the Chief in the future, pretty much as they demanded.

There’s always a call and response element of shipping a game, you have to ship improvements, you have to ship tweaks and you have to ship changes and sometimes you have to walk some of those back.

Doubling down on Master Chief story and the amount of focus on him was probably the easiest learning from Halo 5. That was a really simple thing to absorb and embrace."

Managed to glitch mission 13(?) :fp: Where you start with the Scorpion after following the Guardian. Half of our team is stuck on the wrong side of the first security door you get to. Stellar QA work there, 343. strawberry floating hell.

Can't even find a loading point yet to spawn them where I am. Doesn't help that I'm stuck with AI Vale and she's a total imbecile. Paint a target for her to shoot and she just shoots everything but. Idiot.

Those last two missions are a bit dull, aren't they? It's literally just push forwards and shoot the next bunch of people.

Still, finished! Got ODST to fill the Halo void before 6 turns up, too. Guess they'll be announcing it proper at E3?

ODST in the Masterchief collection is sublime btw. 6 will round off E3 but won't be here till 2018.

Yeah, we nabbed the MCC version for £4 the other day. I don't remember liking it first time around but for £4 you can't really go wrong (so in all, that's £10 for five Halo games :datass: ).

Kind of wish they did the same for Reach, as they might actually be able to hit 60fps on the Xbox One so they could scrap the horrible motion blur :dread: Reading up it doesn't even work that well on BC, apparently!

Yeah I'd love a Reach Anniversary or something. Reach plays as good (or bad) as it did on 360, It took a few months of patches though because when it launched it was an absolute disaster.

I've 60 seconds of it on Xbox One I took here:

From Sketch at 343 -

I'll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We've said this already but we'll have a little something at E3 but it's not related to the next major entry in the franchise.
