Firefight for Halo 5:

Warzone Firefight is an ambitious new multiplayer experience that takes the initial promise of Halo 5’s Warzone multiplayer – the epic battles, incredible scale and huge maps – and applies that to create the biggest Halo cooperative experience ever in franchise history. In Warzone Firefight, up to eight players will work together to complete five rounds of increasingly difficult, dynamic objectives set against a timer to emerge victorious.

The prospect of teaming up with seven other players to take on a plethora of enemies using the REQ System has us all eagerly awaiting the release of Warzone Firefight this summer. Be sure to stay tuned to Halo Waypoint, Xbox Wire and follow the official Halo Twitter for all the latest Halo 5: Guardians Warzone Firefight news.

First Look at Warzone Firefight in Halo 5: Guardians

Since it was first announced last month that Player vs. Environment (PvE) combat would return to the Halo franchise in the form of Warzone Firefight, fans have been eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of how the all-new experience would look in Halo 5: Guardians. The wait is finally over as the world premiere of Warzone Firefight gameplay made its debut during the Halo World Championship 2016 Finals!

Warzone Firefight will feature more enemies than ever – including a brand new tier of “Mythic” enemy bosses. Thought the Warden Eternal was menacing? You ain’t seen nothing yet. Warzone Firefight features the most on-screen enemies in the history of the franchise, making for frantic and exhilarating matches.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Warzone without the REQ System, and fans will be happy to hear that you’ll have full access to all of your weapons, vehicles, power-ups, armor mods and more in Warzone Firefight. Standard Assault Rifle not doing its job against a swarm of shielded Jackals? Why not deploy your Scourge of Fire Plasma Caster and melt your opponents? Having trouble against an enemy Banshee? Take to the skies in your own Phaeton! In Warzone Firefight, it won’t be enemy players that give you pause – it’ll be the hordes of angry Grunts.

Warzone Firefight is sure to be a fan favorite and we can’t wait to team up and try it out ourselves. With dynamic objectives making each game different, you can play thousands of matches before seeing the same objective combination. The prospect of teaming up with seven other players to take on a plethora of enemies using the REQ System has us all eagerly awaiting the release of Warzone Firefight this summer. Valhalla plays and looks great. Sandtrap not so great. Doesn't really work well in Halo 5 IMO, you just die too easily for such an open map. Had a great flag match on Valhalla though, over all not enjoying the new maps in BTB all that much.

A look at the new maps - http://www.gamespot.com/articles/next-h ... 0-6436142/

"For Skirmish at Darkstar we have a new intro experience where players are dropped into the middle of the action. Both teams have a clear objective that creates confrontation from the beginning," Holmes said.

When did they remove the plasma cannon from Riptide? Loved that.

I've decided Pegasus is just a bad map and that it's not just me. Nowhere near as balanced as the other maps in the rotation.

NOW LIVE: WARZONE TURBO

This morning, a special little game mode we like to call Warzone Turbo landed on the matchmaking shores of Halo 5: Guardians. What is this “Warzone Turbo” thing? We thought you’d never ask! Actually, we knew you would – which is why we grabbed Lead Multiplayer Designer Lawrence Metten to give you the inside scoop.

Warzone Turbo is fiesta-esque mayhem on a gigantic scale, where you are instantly placed at Level 9 as soon as your Home Base is secure, and are imbued with near-instantaneous energy regeneration. Everything is fair game as players have access to their entire REQ inventory for the full duration of the match.

Funny enough, originally we had no plans to ever release Warzone Turbo. We created the game type at the request of our test team so that they could more efficiently test Warzone features and functionality without having to wait to level up or refill energy. Then one day we made the “mistake” of giving the mode a whirl during our afternoon studio playtest. It was incredibly chaotic and surprisingly a ton of fun to play, which inevitably led to a long and drawn out internal discussion that went something like this:

“Should we ship this?”

“We can’t not ship this!”

After a bit of extra polish, a couple tuning tweaks, and a handful of scattered adjustments later and Warzone Turbo is ready foryour enjoyment. I look forward to jumping into the playlist and joining the pandemonium with you all this weekend!

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Lawrence. Warzone Turbo is available now until Monday morning, April 4th, so make sure you take part in the furious fracas while you can! And be sure to let us know what you think about Warzone Turbo in this dedicated feedback thread on Waypoint’s forums.

We’ll see you online, Spartans!

I'll be watching that.

My skill set is all over the place in this game. Granted I was playing in Arena and for first 10 matches it can put you with/against any skill ranking but played 4 games and for 3 of them I was great, pretty good, held my own, helped the team, came 2nd in stonghold captures and in kills in slayer, we lost a slayer against another team but I was still ok, then the last game one of other team dropped out half way through and we almost lost cos my K/D was 0.2! :dread:

Now i know that we could have been against pro's but those 10 games can really dent your confidence. I switched to BTB and joined a CTF game in progress. They captured it to go 1 nil up after I joined and then we got it out of their base and I defended it from across the map with a sniper, we eventually scored. It ended 1-1 cos both bases had those robot things defending.

Got a pretty decent Sticky Grenade kill in Arena tho:

Liking the new BTB map. Can't remember the name but it's a sand duney type map that's fairly small with basically quite a height difference between one side and the other. Really good on territories, can imagine it might be good on Flag too. Doesn't seem to be anything else particularly worth worrying about in the new DLC mind. Eagerly awaiting Reach and Firefight in a few months...
