Checked This morning, took 2mins to find a game of Halo 3:

I was actually enjoying my game but had to go to work.

BTB from 10months ago:

Just some tips if really are interested nick, first off, the online is on dedicated servers, all 60fps/1080p. Secondly, Halo 2 and Halo 2 Anniversary are BULLET hard (for me anyway). Also, bare in mind in some cases you'll play 3 different versions of the same map, Halo2/3 versions of headlong, zanzibar, Halo3's Valhalla has 3 versions, almost 4 if you count blood gulch as a variant.

Campaign co-op is not on dedicated servers unfortunatley (it is on Halo 5) but I found Halo CE, 3 and 4 to work perfectly, I didnt play a lot of Halo 2's campaign cos its garbage. The online works like this, you can pick a game, say Halo 2 classic and it will cycle through 4v4 size maps with a mixture of slayer, CTF, Bomb and Stongholds (king of the hill). Same with Halo 3, 4, and even CE. If want to play Halo Doubles it will span across Halo 2 Ann, Halo 2 Classic, Halo 3 and Halo 4. BTB is also across all games.

Why do the guns in Halo 3 sound gooseberry fool? No problem with the gun sfx in the first 2 games but they sound so low and get drowned out from music/characters talking. Halo 2 was brilliant, really enjoyed it and I know I'm probably one of the few that actually likes H2's campaign but oh well.

Funny seeing Nick trying to see if the game was fixed cause he would like to play them. Wouldn't he need an Xbone for that? :slol:

Noticed you posted a screenshot of Halo 4 on Live, how are you finding it? I'd rank it third in the collection also, when are you jumping to Halo 5? the mp is outstanding plus Fire Fight is dropping soon! :D

Finished 3 and started 4 yesterday played about an hour or 2. Big difference between 3&4 when going straight from one to the other. You can tell off the bat it's no longer a Bungie Halo. Enjoyed it so far and looks great and I never got to play it as I'd got shut of my 360 before its release I think. As for online gaming Uncharted 4 has that at the moment as I can dive into a game every time the missus goes out back for a smoke :slol:

Can't believe how cheap MCC is going for on CDKeys, £6.66 is a bargain price for it.

I don't even like Halo games but bought it for £7 from CD Keys a few weeks ago. The price was so cheap it seemed wrong not to buy it.

Bought this for £4.79 the other day to play through online with my friend. Every few minutes it gives us that "Connection Lost: Disconnecting in X..." countdown, but usually it recovers a few seconds later.

Just got to the end of the second level and it disconnected just before we jumped in the Pelican :x Is this going to be a recurring thing? Has anyone else had that disconnect error before? I've seen a few people mention it after a bit of google searching. Wondering if there's anything wrong with the internet or if it's just the game....

Think it's the game unfortunately, it's a bit broken :(

Do you often contemplate the complexity of life?

I found Halo 2 had that happen to me and mate but the rest seemed fine, maybe 1 or 2 disconnections, remember the campaign co op is not on a dedicated server (unlike Halo 5 that uses DS) the host connection is what it runs on. Make sure whoever has the fastest connection hosts the co-op.

Great memories

Worth mentioning, not a single entry from 4 or 5, not even in the honorable mentions.

It's worth mentioning that half of those maps are in Halo 5, and a few in Halo 4. you should really watch the video's you post.

Here I am playing Valhalla from Halo 3/4 in Halo 5 no less.

Excellent Video from Digital Foundry on the History of Bungie and what made Halo CE such a game changer for the FPS genre.

I didn't realize the Halo CE on the MCC not only ran at 60fps but also updated the enemy animations to run at 60 also, the PC port ran at 60 but the Enemies animated to 30fps which made things odd. Subsequently, the MCC version is the best. Personally, the stand out game on MCC is Halo 3, DF said it was a rock solid 1080p and 60fps for entire campaign and it really shows. ODST got same treatment as Halo 3, silky smooth.

Lengthy article here as well -

In 2014, Microsoft and 343 Industries released Halo: The Master Chief Collection and, while it was notorious for suffering from issues at launch, the port of Halo: Combat Evolved is sublime. The animation work is fixed, many of the visual features are restored and the frame-rate is now a buttery smooth 60fps - at least in classic mode. It's an amazing way to replay Halo today. Even better, all of the original multiplayer maps and features are fully intact and playable in split-screen. This also runs at a stable 60fps and is clearly the best way to enjoy Halo today. The one downside is that the remastered graphics still tend to struggle performance wise on Xbox One.

So while the Master Chief Collection did launch with issues, the iteration of Halo 1 on offer here is excellent. It still could be better, no doubt, but if you're looking to enjoy the original Bungie experience to its fullest extent on modern hardware, Xbox One is the place to be. The icing on the cake? Digital codes for the complete Master Chief Collection are as cheap as £6.99 with just a little shopping around online.

The main reason I bought my XBO is because of Halo: MCC but hardly have had a chance to touch it. My get ODST to replay in HD!

In early January the 343i Community Manager Ske7ch343 posted a statement about the game on Reddit. Which sounds like 343i are debating whether to provide further support or end it. I would think the latest edition is scalable to Xbox Scorpio, however they have to balance the cost & workload with the audience and it's probably best they put their resources into the next Halo game.

Regarding MCC, you're not out of line for asking for a game you love to be as good as it can be. As I've stated before, there are a lot of legitimate issues and while it's unfortunate that some people have been driven to such extreme measures of expressing their dissatisfaction it doesn't mean the game isn't without its problems. One thing you and others have genuinely helped with is re-surfacing some key recurring, big ticket issues that at least for me (someone relatively new) has been very helpful and getting up to speed and trying to have internal conversations across the team. I wish I had definitive info for you but right now the future of MCC is still unknown but I wouldn't say the ship has totally sailed yet. Conversations are still being had, assessments are still being made and at a minimum I hope to make good on my pledge to either give fans a legitimate status update or, barring that, face it head on and even if it's not the news everyone wants, accept it and move forward. This is top of mind for me as we start the new year so please know that you and everyone else who plays MCC on a daily basis are not forgotten.

Re-installed this last night. I've never finished Halo 2 so might give it a go. Gonna pop that achievement panel on and see what I'm close to.

Apparently the old mp is still going strong! :D
