I really hoped the hatred towards Halo 2 was just years of the internet fuelling the fire with hyperbole. Unfortunately it is a sack of gooseberry fool. Quite remarkable how well Bungie kept Halo on course after this abomination*.
Action Sack is here, and it includes 129 total map / game type combinations across Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. It includes a mix of non-traditional variants, ranging from non-default starting weapons (Plasma Punchout, for example), all the way to wacky and awesome custom maps and mode combinations, such as Halo 3’s Dodgeball, or Halo 4's Paintball. I’ve worked with some of our test team to put together a quick list of all of the game modes you can expect to see within the playlist. Let’s take a look at them.

Currently going through Halo CE ON Co-op Legendary, Man assault on the control room is repetitive! I'm streaming entire thing and have all vids up on my YouTube account.
Next mission is the introduction to the flood, can't wait.
Next up Halo 2 and ODST, hoping to get all done by Halo5, have 3 done and half of 4.
Quick one - just fired this up for the first time and the gun sound effects on Halo 3 are awful...all updates are installed but the sound mix is still awful (music too loud/guns too quiet). Anyone else found a fix for this? Sound mix on all other games in the collection is spot on!
I know I'm late to the party but I finally got this last week and just finished Halo 1 for only the second time in my life. I'm amazed how well it has held up in terms of the gameplay. Contrary to the rest of everyone's opinion, I'm excited to be moving on to Halo 2 now as I never actually got around to finishing it. I want to try and do a Halo a week and get fully up to speed for Halo 5 (although I'll save that for the wife to get me for Christmas).
Really hope they eventually bring Reach to the collection as DLC.
Having only just picked up an Xbox One, I'm working through SP on this.
It was fun playing through CE again, even though it's not that long since I played Anniversary. Loved it once again. I even enjoyed the Library this time with a shotgun permanently in hand.
Just finished Halo 2. There were a few familiar sections, but I also found there were bits of it I barely recognised from 10 years ago. I guess there were some levels I only ever played once, namely anything involving
The Arbiter
.
Now I am making good progress on Halo 3 and it is a massive step up from Halo 2, even if the cut scenes are a little jarring after the splendour of Halo 2.
I should play 4 next really, but I loved ODST so that's a definite draw.
The online on this has gotten a bit stupid. It works fine and all but I cant play it anymore because you get about 6 maps TOPS in rotation in Halo 3/4 playlists which is just stupid.
Played a game of this for the first time in ages a couple of days ago. Big team battle 1 flag Ctf on Burial Mounds. More than half my team quit so it ended up 8 v 3 and I still ended up having the most kills of anyone and with a positive kill death ratio.
Finished playing through SP on this, including ODST. I enjoyed 4 more than I remembered and 3 was brilliant. I would say 2 is the only disappointment having gone back to it, and that's only because of Arbiter levels.
The main frustration I have found is that despite the in-game menus reporting I've completed all the levels, my Halo service record and achievement lists have various levels uncompleted.
I started 4 over the weekend and it looks very impressive for a last gen title. I guess that's the boost to 1080p and the lighting bump it apparently received. One thing I will say is that the storytelling feels a bit confused, like they were cramming too much in. Hopefully Halo 5 can lock the story down a bit, if you excuse the pun!
Apart from a couple of Halo 4 levels in Aug 14 not played Halo at all since finishing Reach on Legendary back in 2011 but went straight in on CE on Legendary recently. strawberry float me - I forgot how hard (but fair) it can be!
Is it just my memory or have they added in hunters (which are now harder) that weren't there originally? Thinking just before you get beamed up to the Covenant ship on level 3 and then when you clear the room when you are first in there? I thought they didn't turn up until Silent Cartographer?
I did CE, 3, ODST and Reach on Legendary but never 2. Didn't particularly enjoy it at the time, focused more online, and found some of the bits frustrating even on Normal but I'm thinking I'll try and do 2 this time as well.
I tried it about 5 months ago, 3-player split-screen online TDM, and it was a laggy unplayable mess. I don't think there's a server browser so I'm assuming we were on a US one. As Photekky as this is going to sound - try Halo 5. The guys I know who are bang into Halo say it's easily the best online since Halo 2 & 3.
It's worth noting that the community may have moved over to Halo 5, I know I have, it has BTB, Arena, Breakout and Warzone which are brilliant, plus it has forge re-creations from Halo 2/3, 6 so far with more coming.
Halo CE anniversary and Halo 3 campaigns are still stunning as well as ODST. I'll check later for you, see if I have any trouble.
