Have they said if this will be getting a Series X update?
It would be nice to be able to do an entire playthrough from Halo CE to Infinite with upgraded graphics.

They have been doing some good work with the enhanced graphics on these. Halo 2 looks so much better that when it was released on PC.

Well it will have HDR anyway.

Gears 5 is getting update so presume this may be but it might just be 120fps for mp mode.

All told though, I did enjoy returning to Halo 2 and despite the issues, I do feel that it's best game in The Master Chief Collection for PC so far. The remade graphics scale rather well to 4K, the system requirements are not onerous - and crucially, it is a more than worthy replacement for the 2007 PC release. Let's hope an even better turn-out from the upcoming Halo 3.

Does anyone know if you can still collect the skulls in campaign with that skull active? :slol: I'm awful at grenade jumping and I keep finding ones that need me to attempt it.

Played through ODST again, and unlike the first time round I'm taking it slow. Last time I got it at the same time as Reach came out so just blasted through it and came away thinking it was a slower, ponderous experience that I didn't really enjoy.

Now I think it's probably my second or third favourite Halo, behind Reach and 3. The city level looks gorgeous on my PC, and the atmosphere of the place is so different from any other Halo game. And the diagetic navigation system really is something too...in fact I'm not sure I've seen another game do environmental navigation as well as this.

Unfortunately, I came across a huge strawberry floating annoyance: I'd collected 26 of the 29 Mombasa Streets audio logs when I picked up the mission starting with the foam can. After finishing that I'm returned to the city...only to find the it closed off. There was no "No going back from here" warning, and seemingly no reason why the game is pushing me towards the end. Super, super aggravating.

The ODST soundtrack is the best in the series.

Yeah, the music is exceptional. Not just the jazz, but the more African themed battle tunes too. The whole thing is both similar and different to the rest of the Halo oeuvre.

Apart from the needless gating of the city towards the end, my only other issue is the teeeeeerrible cutscene animations of the characters. They all move like Saturday morning cartoons. The rubbish faces can be forgiven given the age of the game, but the way everyone moves is just bizarre.

But like I say, it's a really, really interesting deviation from the core Halo tenets and one of the best games in the series.

ODST's project lead is the lad who's back at 343 trying to fix Infinite.

I actually went back to the Infinite trailer having played a bunch of ODST and if you ignore the graphical updates, ODST genuinely looks/feels like the more interesting product despite the two sharing some DNA in their open world/map based structure. Infinite just looks like it's surgically grafted ODST features onto CE's environments and the whole thing looks like a step in the wrong direction. Nothing appears new or interesting, it looks more like a greatest hits affair. Course, it doesn't help that Infinite looks cartoony in a way that didn't register until I went back to the trailer, almost cell shaded.

Unless they've delayed it to Winter 2021 I have a feeling it could be a real dud.

Don't want to derail this thread but the 'word is' that, at least graphically it's been cleaned up already. I stand by the fact that I thought the gameplay looked good, great even. Also, it's GaaS, and although it might drop in a 'dud' way, the whole free campaign DLC over years (not necessarily confined to Zeta Halo) may mean that they will fix things like MCC, but we are killing it before release so we'll see.

It's going to be delayed till winter 2021 for sure.
