That was outstanding. gooseberry fool's really ramping up, now. The food preparation scenes this week were sublime, maybe my favourite ever. That thing he made for Dr. Gideon looked strawberry floating delicious. Gonna miss Eddie Izzard. I can't imagine Chilton is much longer for this world, either, which is another shame as he's a great character, too. I think he'll be killed off far earlier than in the books/Silence of the Lambs.

For some reason I was thinking that there were only 8 episodes and we were near the end, but actually we are only half way through the season!

Superb episode! This is easily my favourite show currently airing.

I'd hate for them to kill off Chilton so soon, we'd lose all Lecter's trolling while he's a prisoner. Plus Chilton's hilarious.

Anyone else find that the sound mix of this season is awful, the music is nearly twice as loud as the dialogue and I keep having to turn the volume up every few minutes to follow what is being said then down again to stop the music from deafening me.

I'm using £300 speakers and don't have this problem with any other shows.

Just seen the first episode. Jesus.

That opening and then then bit where he plants the ear down his oesphagus and the final shot of the guy with all the corpses.

Astonishing. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Yeah I have to turn the volume down whenever music plays as it's ridiculously loud, and then I have to turn it right back up otherwise I can't hear any dialogue.

I don't have this at all, get better speakers.

This is really getting good  I love how he is still strawberry floating with everyone despite becoming a suspect and nearly dying. Although I don't understand why the dinner party was just animal. That wasn't great writing in my opinion.

just finished Episode 4. I actually think this is better than last season. Amazing stuff.

The judge and then the Bees and the human zombie guy. The scene where she just confesses to it and they're just looking at her as if to say - "WHAT THE strawberry float?"

Bravura Show making.

Started EP 5 now. I fear for the rather lovely lab girl. I want to know what she found in the cellar as well.

Yeah it's already better than the last season in my opinion (and I completely loved the last season too). Every episode thus far has been absolutely phenomenal stuff...

Yep. There's some great lines from the books that have been rejigged and given to different characters. I like how they've deviated from the books as well.

He's trolling Will and trying to dismiss Jack's suspicions at the same time. He knows Will knows he's a cannibal so prepares a dinner party with animal meat while making Chesapeake ripper kills. If the food is DNA tested it will shown not to be human so Will's fantastical claims are dismissed. When Miriam Lass inevitably vindicates Hannibal next week, it's further proof that he's not the Chesapeake Ripper.

I would also agree it's already surpassed season 1.

They don't currently have the rights for The Silence of the Lambs, so that's why they've moved things around a bit.
