Hey Snake, I just slipped in bird poo, do you have anything to say about that? Look at me Snake, I'm in the ladies toilets What do you think of cardboard boxes, Snake? Snake, I've acquired a porn magazine I'm in alert mode Snake, where should I hide? I just saw a Ninja. It reminded me of you, because you're cool too Snake, you can snipe, I'll just look at you through my sniper scope Metal Gear RAY just dived into the sea. Are you going to dive in too? Of course you are.
In fairness, it's you that's calling him to talk about those trivial matters. It's hard to make conversation about other stuff when in that context.
I loved playing as Raiden, I'd happily play as him again so long as Snake is on codec elsewhere. MGS2 was Snakes finest and coolest performance, and I feel it was only enhanced by us playing as Raiden.
What do you mean in fairness? I loved calling him all the time, don't care what it's about

Uh . . . What?
Time paradox! You must have borrowed a saved file or something.
Nah, man. It asks you to agree with one of several statements at the beginning - stuff like, "I've played MGS and hate action" or something. Clearly I picked the wrong one.
I did that as well! Then I got stuck, started again and answered differently. Awesome.
I was meaning to play this when my 360 was broken but I ended up playing GTA III and Vice City instead.
I think MGS2 is really good and I prefer it over MGS3, although it's not as good as the first.
Something that I would have liked to been able to do is play through the Tanker scenario as Snake. I wanted to see what the other half of the Big Shell was like.
haven't played this for years now but it is still one of my all time favorite games and one of only a handful that had story line that had me sucked in.

I did this too. It was the first time I had played a MGS game so when I answered the questions, I had no idea I was missing anything. (I don't think I even knew who Solid Snake was. )
Pah, MGS 2 was a load of tosh. The tanker part was okay, but the Big Shell was just dull, dull, dull. The hexagonal level was just the same few rooms repeated six times (oh, oh, but one was flooded, yes!) and you spent most of the second half of the game watching cut scenes.
It wasn't as tightly designed or as memorable as Shadow Moses. Likewise, Vamp, Fortune and Fatman (and their respective boss battles) weren't a patch on Sniper Wolf, Mantis or Vulcan Raven. Whereas the original's story descended into absurdity, at least it remained fairly coherent - the third act of MGS 2 is just muddled. Kojimi isn't a master storyteller if he can't weave a yarn any better than he did with this game's conclusion.
I'm being overly harsh perhaps, and I certainly didn't hate my time with it. But it never really felt like I was playing it though.

I loved that aspect, the original blew my mind with it's awesome story - then this story blew my mind by shitting all over the original's story - if you can grasp that.

Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of any game where I have to check outside sources to make sure I've understood the storyline properly.

It's kicking off in New York, so I imagine they're not even at the point of the AI going mental.
I got proper freaked out by this. At this point I think I had clocked up several hours of continous play then he mentioned I should give the game a break or something
Then the story went downhill...
The Solidus section wasn't until the next day, and ended around the time of the New Yorker's early morning commute to work.

I did that as well!
Thank Christ.
Also, what has ABC done with his name? You are now forever known as 'Daz'.
