Appropriate. Closest we've been since 1953. :dread:

I genuinely think I could listen to him all day, his way of speaking and the content of his podcasts are just magnificent.

I have been getting into podcasts lately (I know I am only 15 years behind everyone else!) and just finished listening to "Destroyer of Worlds", my first Hardcore History listen.

God damn, that was excellent. I never thought a near 6 hour podcast would hold my attention like that. Amazing stuff.

Blueprint for Armageddon should be on your must-listen list. It's quite an undertaking but as with all of Carlin's work you just forget how long you've been listening and get totally immersed in his way of describing things.

The whole thing is 22 hours long.

I'll probably stick to shorter episodes and build up to that!!

Yeah it's quite the epic. Logical Insanity is a great shorter one about the dropping of the A-bombs.

No, seriously, it's amazing. Just try the first episode: stick the kid in his buggy and go for a walk. It's an incredible podcast. Don't be put off by the length.

I agree, Blueprint for Armageddon is absolutely excellent and a 'must listen'. The level of detail Dan goes into and all the side stories are brilliant, not to mention how he explores the human element, and really tries to get inside the mind of the people at the time.

Can vouch for Blueprint for Armageddon, listened to all of it after previously starting but never completing it. I was actually quite sad once it was all over.

Need to listen to some more of his stuff. The A-Bomb one sounds interesting.

How do people split up these podcasts? They're so horrifically long, I keep falling asleep and losing my place and it becomes very hard to listen to. I was hoping someone would have edited them up into logical 20-minute or so chunks somewhere but after a bit of Googling I can't find anything.

I realise podcast apps have timers but it's not very good when you come back to it mid-story, mid-sentence.
