Looking to book tickets for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 this weekend but I see a local cinema has this new 4DX cinemas and is showing GOTG2 on it this weekend.

My question is has anyone been to seen a film in 4DX? Is it a good experience?

No, because 3D is pointless enough

I saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them in 4DX.

It was a struggle. I felt like I couldn't enjoy the film because I had to concentrate on not being sick.

I often get the Dbox seating when I go to Cineworld as I have an Unlimited card. I like it but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra fiver or so for 3D and Dbox.

I can't imagine how annoying that would be. Does he spend the whole movie offering people out for fights and telling you unhinged conspiracy theories?

Yes.
I went twice last year for Star Trek: Beyond and Bourne.

Of the 2 Bourne was the better experience as Star Trek was just constant crashing about and it just ended up being annoying but in Bourne the effects (the chair rumbling/leg thumpers and air/water blasts) were much much better used and it was amazing during a knife fight where the seat was going bonkers and jets of air whooshed past my head at the same time he dodged knife thrusts.

Sounds like some mixed thoughts, think I'll give it a go and see what it's like

I've been to a few 4DX showings.

Its definitely worth going to once, mileage will vary on a film to film and person to person basis. Not all the films are as good in 4DX as each other and if you get motion sick at all it might be an issue for you.

4DX is more than just moving seats though, the wind and rain effects and especially the air blast at the sides of your head can really add something to a film. The scent and fog effects are pretty rubbish though.

The whole thing sounds horrible.

It's bad enough being distracted by the town slag getting fingered at the back of the cinema. Now you want me to pay to have air and stagnant water blasted in my face?

lol just lol

Where do you live? The water is just water straight from the tap why would they use stored water?

I love being at the cinema surrounded by idiots making loads of noise in their chairs, so this sounds right up my street.

I'm in the rather fortunate position that I take all my holidays as Fridays so can go to the cinema for the first screening of the day where there are less people. The seats are much bigger though and further apart and the sound is set to ultra loud so idiots making noise shouldn't be overly distracting.
