Have you ever been arrested?

I've been arrested once, cautioned 3 times, been stopped and searched easily 20+ times and pulled over at least 10 times. strawberry float them though because I got away with waaaaay more gooseberry fool than they ever caught me for.

That was all a long time ago and now I'm a model citizen.

I've done quite a lot of illegal stuff, but never been arrested. Most of it was student japes, of which I'm thoroughly ashamed now.

Had a juvenile record for vandalism and burglary that got wiped when I hit 18.

Been stopped and searched many times from the age of 18-22 but always been lucky enough to have already taken all the drugs. Once got questioned for an hour when they stopped us leaving a petrol station at 3am tripping my nut off on acid, the copper thought I was being flippant, took a real disliking to me and I could see his hands shaking with anger, seriously thought he was gonna whack me and I started majorly freaking out.

Guy started on me, I only punched him once but knocked him out and broke his nose. He went to the police and they believed his story and couldn't be bothered to take witness statements or anything and so basically said "accept a caution or take it to court". So I got a caution.

been arrested 7 or 8 times unfortunately. Think they were all drink related - drunk and disorderly, criminal damage, assault - stuff like that. Last time was just before Christmas when I was on a night out and got into a fight. I got arrested and held over the weekend and got taken to court before I got bail. That's been hanging over me since and I got court coming up next month for that so things don't look good. The main charges are ABH and assaulting a police officer. I haven't really been drinking since as that is what always has got me into trouble.

When I was growing up I always wanted to join the police but with my record now I would have no chance. I tried for the Army but got turned down for that too. My brother is a prison officer and he has warned me about what I was heading for but before what happened before Christmas I didn't really take it seriously.

No offense mate but if you get in so much trouble when you're drunk, why don't you just stop doing it? Unless you have a drink problem which you need help with, giving up drink to improve your QoL shouldn't be too hard.

I have pretty much given up drinking this year. You're right I think I've been drunk every time except once when I was arrested

I like your attitude. Admitting when you've been wrong is incredibly difficult sometimes, but you seem to be going about it the right way. Good man.

When it goes to court, make sure to mention that you have given up drinking. It shows that you've accepted that you did something wrong, and are taking steps to tackle the problem. That will stand in your favour when it comes to sentencing.
