HBO Now streaming channel - How to get HBO Now in the UK!

HBO Now has been launched in the USA on Apple devices. It's a streaming TV service that shows library and new HBO content. HBO are regarded as a premium channel, their content was previously only available as part of a cable TV bundle. It requires you have an Apple smart device, these are the Apple TV, iPhone or iPad and iPod Touch. After a 3 month exclusivity period it will come to other platforms. It cost $14.99 a month but if you sign up via an Apple device before the 30th April you get the first month free.

I want to see the end of True Detective which I missed the last couple of episodes and as a fantasy fan I'd love to watch Game of Thrones which somehow I've never seen.

How to get HBO Now in the UK
* HBO Now currently requires you have an Apple TV, iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

* A USA iTunes account

* Because of content licensing agreements it is only available in the USA, it is restricted to USA IP addresses. To view HBO Now in the UK you need to use a VPN service so that your device is using a USA IP address. Popular VPN service Unblock-US have just confirmed support for it.
* Payment is via iTunes account. The monthly subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it 24 hours before the renewal date.

I've tried it and it works! Woo hoo! There's movies, Game of Thrones, documentaries, Chris Rock, One month of free HBO

I though about trialling Now TV but when I last looked it was SD quality only.

$15 dollars is a bit much for me to pay every month but one month free trial suits me fine. And on the 29th April I might create another account so I use it free until the end of May!

The on-demand selection of HBO stuff is pretty poor on Now TV. They have all four seasons of Game of Thrones but they are being removed at the end of next month. Most other big shows either aren't on there or are incomplete.

I'll be all over this when the new Apple TV is out.

It does sound good but it's not up. Although HBO do have a lot of documentaries about the North and Latin American sex industries and of this I admit I'm criminally ignorant... Also a series called Silicon Valley, I hope it's not a comedy because it looks like it could be quite interesting.

Venom comes across like everyone's favourite granddad. "I've just heard of this series, I believe it's called True Detective. I've heard it's an insight into the inner workings of policing". :lol:

Silicon Valley is brilliant though. One of the best comedies in ages.

It's a lot more difficult to turn a blind eye when Sky paid them £150 million for UK exclusivity.

Well I'm sure all those that were thinking of doing the VPN trick are all going to sign up to Sky now.

I'll continue pirating their stuff I want to watch that's not available on Now TV.
