Yeah, I spotted the LG one after I'd already posted the hisense one.

Just looked again and the LG has gone up £30 overnight. :fp:

Pretty sure Hisense are the third biggest TV manufacturer in the world. Just not huge yet in Europe.

Not sure cheap LGs are any good anyway, haven't seen anything about this years models but I know they have been slated before.

On the other hand I know one of last years high end Hisense models got a good write up because it was relatively cheap for what it offered.

Trusted Reviews have scored up the Hisense H50N6800 which should give you some indication of what to expect from the H50N5300.

And quite rightly so. Skodas were terrible. I'd just about have one now, maybe, at a push (no 80s joke intended).

I'll wait for Hisense to be genuinely considered to be one of the best brands, not just 'big in China', before I get one.

The funny thing is if you start doing a little research, you'll find that Polaroid televisions are strangely only stocked in ASDA. The reason being the license to use the name in the UK is owned by...Walmart, and produced by a company called Vestel. And when you look at some of the product reviews, some ASDA customers think they've actually bought a Panasonic.

The Panasonic tv is exactly what I was looking for, good size at 32", excellent picture quality and the apps are great. It's my first smart tv and I'm delighted with how easy it is to use.

I'm actually a bit disappointed that the Black Friday fad seemed to pass in the UK last year. I was looking forward to more brutality.

The low-end Panasonic TVs are made by Vestel as well , so many TVs in the sub £800 are made by UMC and Vestel.

Looking at new TVs, I continue to be amazed at how few HDMI sockets they have. I reckon I'd want five which can't be that unusual.
