I think so too.

They didn't have another one to exchange it with though so I now have a Sony Bravia KDL40W705C.

Instant improvement. Though I've not tried any games on it.

Hey Guys,

After a gaming sabatical of well voer a year Im thinking about investing in a PS4 + TV Combo... seeing that my 42 inch plasma is now very old, I would like something to unleash a new console potential

Was looking at some 55" setups and came across this Samsung

http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN55J6300AFXZA

I am quite of touch with new tech now though, Would this be a good option for gaming?

Bought a new TV from ebuyer the other day. Turned up all fine but when I unpacked it the screen was completely strawberry floated. They wouldn't just send out a new one until I'd sent off emails of this one which I did. They agreed to come and pick it up so they could 'evaluate' it, the delivery was supposed to be today from anytime until 9pm (I assume it's not going to happen now), so of course I had to take the day off work. Been sat here like a strawberry floating lemon all day and this is now going to roll over into another week.

I can't take a whole other day off just to sit here hoping they strawberry floating turn up and they say they won't do it at weekends and they can strawberry float off if they're expecting me to pay to send it back to them. Anybody got any idea what I should say when I phone them or any experience with how good ebuyer are at sorting out their own strawberry float ups.

I'm looking to buy a new TV, with a maximum budget of £900. I'm currently torn between size vs resolution. I could get a 55 inch Sony 1080p set, or a 49 inch Sony 4K set. I don't imagine I'll be hooking up much to it that will actually output in 4k, but I'm wondering how much better HD content would look upscaled on the 4K set. Anyone got experience of watching Sky HD or playing PS4 through a 4k set with upscaling?

I suggest you just cancel and get a refund. My only experience with ebuyer was a glass TV stand several years back. There was about 3 attempts to send it to me which all resulted in returns due to broken glass shelves or missing parts. Rather than just sending me the missing parts they wanted the whole lot back and resend. After the 3rd time I just cancelled and ordered one elsewhere. Due to a cock up with order numbers though I managed to claim more returns than I actually returned, so in the end it worked out that I walked away with over £100. :D

Every time I've needed to send something back to ebuyer everything has gone smoothly.

I've had this broken tv at my flat for 2 weeks now :fp:

They're so inflexible, despite already taking a day off to have it collected (they didn't show up) they're still pretty unapologetic on the phone about the whole thing and offered no realistic alternative so basically said I have to take another day off or I'm stuck with it. Managed to sort out a kindly neighbour to hold onto it for collection on Wednesday if they bother showing up.

What's more annoying is they won't even send out a replacement until they've had it back to 'evaluate' it :fp: This is despite the fact I've sent them a dozen photos already to prove its broken.

strawberry float knows when I'm actually going to get what I ordered

Seriously, strawberry float ebuyer.

If you don't get any help here, I suggest trying this place  https://www.avforums.com/forums/ They'll have user forums for the set and may have professional reviews for them too.

The forums can be just as informative. Reviews will often give you a heads-up on any big issues concerning the set, but TV specific threads often point out issues not found in review models, and is obviously also a great way to gauge how satisfied people are with the TVs you're considering.

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/ is another site worth checking for professional reviews.

They only managed to collect it on the fifth time of asking from a different address. I said I wanted it cancelled and a refund, they still delivered me another strawberry floating tv. The whole thing was a strawberry floating ordeal. No flexibility shown by them what so ever. If you have a normal job and live by yourself there policy is essentially 'strawberry float you, deal with it'

Couldn't you just keep the TV?

Nah, only kidding! That's some shitty CS right there. Not bought from eBuyer before, but I do often include their site when evaluating whom to buy from. Will probably do a search beforehand to see if anyone else had similar issues, if I ever go ahead with a purchase from them. Would rather pay a few quid more than deal with shitty CS though.

Right guys. I'm after a new TV with all the standard modern bits: Smart, 4K etc. I'm not fussed about 3D but wouldn't avoid one that came with it. I'm also mainly looking at the top brands (Sony, Samsung, LG... are these three the best?) and between 45"-50". I know almost nothing about TVs so would really appreciate a point in the right direction. Anything in particular to avoid? I thought I'd find something I'd go for in the Black Friday sales today but nothing jumped out at me at all. Starting to think I'll be better off looking in the Boxing Day/January sales.

I thought these ones looked reasonable but wouldn't mind a second opinion.

LG - http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/televisions/televisions/lg-49uf680v-smart-ultra-hd-4k-49-led-tv-10135234-pdt.html

Digihome (no idea) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digihome-48304UHDSM-48-4K-Ultra-HD-Smart-LED-TV-WiFi-Freeview-HD-HDMI-USB-Ports-/141800695441

Plus there were a few on Amazon but they went straight away to Prime members. And even they didn't massively impress me.

Thanks!
