What’s the witness?

Would it be considered taking things a bit far if you legally change your name to Mr OLED?

Have you tried the witness for HDR yet? I was just showing a mate and toggling it on and off, it's a staggering difference.

Ah, need to give that a go. I tried Destiny 2 at the weekend (vivid) and Resogun (couldn't see how to turn HDR on...)

Didn't realise the Witness supported it as well.

Slightly side question, does HDR affect frame rate at all? I didn't think it'd need any extra processing, but Destiny felt like it was slowing down.

Not everyone has a room suitable for wall mounting. As long as it's at a correct height (ie, not above a fireplace - I agree with you there!) and offers a decent viewing angle then I have no problem.

I'm not talking about wall mounting. I'm taking about the central feature of your room being stuck above a fireplace or in a corner. A few people I know have done it, with one tv being so high up a wall that STOOD in front of it you still had to look up :dread: Someone else I know has put theirs in a corner despite there being no fireplace or anything in the way to put the same unit central to the room. They then have the whole room skewed to point at the tv, including having a surround system mounted up with speakers all over the strawberry floating shop because seemingly using the natural shape of the room is too easy. Yep, left speaker in the middle of the front wall, makes sense.

So my friends came and picked up the Panny plamsa. Really appreciative. I showed them mine and they were suitably impressed.

I texted my friend later to ask if the Telly was set up and playing ok. She said it was great, thanks again. Then she said he husband had spent all afternoon moaning and saying "Why cant we get one like Denny's?"

that must be so gooseberry fool to think you've got something great and then see someone else's which blows it out the water. My mate asked to see the HDR in action last night as his tv doesn't have it and after a while he was, " oh strawberry floating hell right that's enough :( "

Also
Ungrateful bastard :| Maybe he should work overtime having gooseberry fool thrown at him getting bitten and then maybe he could buy his own nice things instead of having hand me downs

My refund was from when I did my nurse training and I worked like a dog during that time because my ex wife had packed in nursing but expected me to fund her lavish lifestyle. I've more than earned some reward.

Wait, so it isn't a bung for being a Tory party member? My faith in the dishonesty of the British political system is shaken to it's very core.

I'm still entranced by the bloody thing. It so wonderfully easy to use and mess about with. I think I actually love it more than my earphones. :shifty:

The MU7000 55 inch I just bought is amazing and perfect for gamers.
I got it from John Lewis for £700 after they price matched and I highly recommend it.

I'd definitely recommend the 55" version of the 49" TV I recently picked up. It's a very nice set.

Available at Currys for about £750.

I was in the same boat: if it helps, I've found the ARC on my amp to be very good.

+1 for what Rex said, or the one Peter Crisp recommended is also very good.

Two evenings ago my 6 year old Panasonic plasma started making an annoyingly loud buzzing sound (like when the brightness/contrast is too high) that I couldn't seem to fix no matter what settings I fiddled with. Managed to convince the wife that now might be the time to replace it (come on 4k! :toot: ) and spent the last couple of days doing my research and settling on a replacement. Quite exciting

This morning the buzzing has stopped, so the wife has vetoed the new tv :(

I might have to sabotage it properly now :shifty:

I'd settled on a Panasonic TX-50EX700B (£570) which got great reviews.
