Not sure if talking about children or pet rats

In the last 3 years, I have had more bugs than I have had in the last 20. First my nephew came along and spread his plague everywhere and then my lad came along to continue the biological warfare.

I think it is a secret plan that the children have come up with to kill off all of the older people. :x

I think I've dodged it. I don't know how, but so 3 days later I still haven't been ill. Now I've said that, i hope I haven't jinxed myself... It'll be just my luck if I get ill now!

Same here! Despite literally being puked over a couple of times, I seem to have escaped getting it, unlike the wife who had it around the same time as my kid.

Which is unusual, usually I catch them easily and the wife is the one with the cast iron stomach.

My sister sent me a slow cooker as I have just moved in on my own. I tried one of the recipes in the instruction booklet, but overfilled the pot slightly.

Judging by the mess, this marks both the first and last time I use a slow cooker

Try something not from the booklet, they can be very good when done right and when it is a a good recipe.

This one I did the other week and it was very nice. Mostly it could be done in a job but the flavours were much better from slow cooker as they could come together over a long time.

Ingredients
• 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
• 1 Onions (Chopped)
• 300g Lean Beef Mince
• 200g Carrot Grated
• 1 x 400g can Chopped Tomatoes
• 6 tablespoons Tomato Puree
• 1 Red Chillies (Thinly Sliced)
• 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
• 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
• 1 stick Cinnamon
• Shake of Worchestershire Sauce
• 1 Beef Stock Cube disolved in 125ml boiling water
• 1 x 400g can Red Kidney Beans (Rinsed and Drained)
• 2 cloves Garlic (crushed and chopped)
Directions
Step 1
Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan with a lid and fry the onion until softened, add the garlic and cook for an additional minute. Increase the heat and add the mince, cooking quickly until browned and breaking down any chunks of meat with a wooden spoon.
Step 2
Add mince and onion mix to slow cooker and add other ingredients, cook on high for 4 hours
Step 4
30 minutes from the end add the kidney beans and take lid off the cooker

Think I'm coming down with an eye infection, had a massive spot on my eyebrow a couple of days ago but now the area around the eye is swollen and painful.

My slow cooker was my greatest purchase, tend to stick something on before work and it's perfect by the time I get home; curry, chilli, stew etc

Won my pokemon cards tournament today, netting me 22 packs (I won a box but split it with my friend, who was my opponent in final round) and a huge leap in my competitive career. Considering chasing the worlds invite aggressively now - it's genuinely within reach. It would be a stretch, but it's possible...

Congratulations :)

On a similar note I keep pondering this idea, if I did it'd be via the Open University rather than a normal one. Think it's probably come back to the front of my mind as with the company I'm currently working for there is now an even slimmer chance of a career with them than before due to a restructure of the management over the company. If I did start a course in September/October this year I'd only be 8 years late starting, that makes me feel really old!

It's either that or make a real effort to get a new job but the problem with this option is I still have no idea what I'd want to do.
