My wife's parents brought us a handheld vacuum from Japan, a Mikita (I thought they just make stuff like drills and saws), and I agree it is awesome. It makes cleaning a breeze, but it has such a tiny capacity, it basically needs to be emptied once a week. Also it's not the most powerful thing ever, if I have to vacuum carpet, the Bissel is much better. That being said, I would definitely invest in a Dyson if the suction is good.
