Won a pokemon tournament today. Wasn't playing to win (brought a deck I dont really like that much) so feels pretty good to turn up, have a good time, and still come out on top.

What's the M word?

Marriage :?

Your long-time boyfriend keeps telling you he wants to marry you, even to start a life together with you in an idyllic location in the South of France, spending the rest of his life with you...

... and you changed the subject?

Are you stupid?

Surprised you need to ask this.

He's been successfully trolling the boards for so many years I've lost count. he's definitely one of the best we ever had. up there with the true greats. Well... not quite Ethan Hunt level, but good for what it is.

Who thought it'd be a good idea to spend 40 hours over 5 days every week doing work? A weekend just isn't long enough. Who wants to start a petition that every weekend includes friday?

I'm convinced I'd be more productive with four day working weeks

But I think it depends a lot on the job.

If your job is more menial, 5 day weeks with 6 hour days is probably the way to maximise productivity.

If your job is more creative or technical, I think 4 days of 8 hours is good.

Does anyone here reckon they're honestly really productive for more than about 30 hours of their 40 hour week? I don't think I am.

I would be stunned if it balanced 50/50 with productive time and not, however my productive time is very productive making it work.

I wish my hours were only 40 hours :( 11/12 hour days not uncommon for me at the minute

I was in for 8 and a half hours today which is a long one for me, could feel myself starting to boil over and get irritable by the end. can't imagine how people do it on the regular.

I was talking generally, I actually do 9 - 5:30, but I probably leave at 6 on average. Almost everyone at my job kinda pressures you to do overtime it's really annoying. I've been better recently at just leavibg at 5:30. No point staying if I ain't gettin paid

Meanwhile in Japan, they use drones to force staff to leave instead of working overtime.

They even have a word for "death by overtime" - karoushi
