I have to say, I completely understand where Cal is coming from and agree with him 100%. If you can remove an element from a game with no detrimental effect, then you have to question the value of its inclusion in the first place.

But its only Cals opinion that says it has no detrimental effect. Personally id say its removing the most unique aspect of the game but hey what do I know

'Hey, this film about the Holocaust is depressing, I'll just fast forward all the bits in the concentration camp!'

Games like this are totally wasted on some people.

Good point, well made. Apart from it isn't either. I don't want to speak for Cal, but I believe we both felt that it was a very good game and therefore not wasted on us at all. The fact that we took away a different reading of the overriding theme (acknowledging that it's against the developers intention), just means that we got something different from the game. This is a perfectly normal response, by the way - go into any art gallery in the world and you will find different people taking different things from the exhibits.

I get what this game is and I appreciate the themes. But I'm not really having fun with the gameplay end of things. Wee bit disappointed but it's meant to be short so I'll see it through for the story

Well this was a surprise I didn't see coming, I mean I thought it looked like my sort of game but what a journey

My thoughts

Playing: PS4: Yakuza 0, Bioshock Infinite | Switch Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Watching: Westworld S2, Defenders S1
Reading: Andrzej Sapkowski - Sword of Destiny, The Hunter - Andrew Reid

Good to have performance and 4k modes as an option on the X.

Why is the game so cheap though? Is it short?

Yeah, I think it's around 4 to 5 hours, meant to be good though, I keep meaning to pick it up.

It's actually about 8 hours long.

Apparently this just came out on Xbox 1 last week, as well, so now even more people get to experience a debilitating mental condition, but in a good way.

Unless they want to turn that bit off, of course.
