Helldivers 2 | PS5, PC | Eagle Sweat - the scent of victory

Woke up humming the orbital entry theme song today, before being hit with instant sadness at the realisation that I won't be able to play it again until maybe Sunday evening at the earliest

Was trying to tell my kids about how much fun I had with my Helldiver bros, but they were more concerned that I'd been killing insects - my son cried when I told him I might have to report him as a Terminid sympathiser, I was so ashamed I almost threw up

Finding out your children are terminid sympathisers is a good reason to feel ashamed.

Hit me up whenever you want to play again! Should be able to do Sunday fine. Mondays and Wednesday evenings are tied up with other GRcade shenanigans (Mario kart and retro shooting) but otherwise down 2 dive whenevs.

I thiiiink I'm at the stage where I am still loving it but will probably mostly save the game for playing with buddies on voice.

That said you can totally play with randoms, with no voice chat absolutely fine. 99% of people know the game and play it tactically and supportively, as Preezy got a taste of in my room with a couple o randoms yesterday.

I'd be up for some games on Sunday.

I'm in for Sunday if my copy arrives...which it probably won't but fingers crossed.

I did actually want it digitally but I had points to use at game collection so only paid £12 for it

Kids these days just hate freedom and managed democracy.

This game seems to go out of its way to explain as little as it can.
Most of the time I have no idea what the strawberry float I'm supposed to do and the game gives you zero help or even slight hints.

Just played with Chalky and we were wanding about with zero clue.
Just some help would be nice I'm not expecting an auto win button but at least have a better explanation of objectives than some ultra vague go there and do something to something with something.

There's definitely some depth and obfuscation to the mechanics of the game, and some objectives definitely take figuring out. There's an art to reading the map too. Would be very happy to play with you and show you what I know!

Had an amazing/awful moment on an autobot level. We had about 40 total samples (20 of green and orange). 2 lives left, just had to defend the extraction zone. I find a great place for a turret, pop it down at my feet, only to see "500kg eagle bomb" incoming in 3 seconds. The bots were using a scrambler :fp:

This killed 3 team members, using up our lives and losing us the extraction. :slol:

Moments like that are why this game is so fun.

Apparently the Automatons aren't heading for Super Earth, they're going "north" to liberate Cyberstan, where their Cyborg creators are enslaved in the mines. :shifty:

I think that's going to unlock a third front in the war.

Been bug hunting the last couple of days, clearing nests and whatnot. Good fun, now I've got some airstrikes and turrets to play around with.

Another great session last night with the GRcade Helldivers, this time with added Fade :datass:

Hopefully Aaron's stream stayed up the whole time because one of the automaton missions was absolutely mental :slol:
