After 8 days, over 60km walked and 2500 metres climbed am finally at Everest Base Camp.

Proof:

Verdict:

gooseberry fool view, can't even see Everest

But seriously, I've travelled a decent amount and this has probably been one of the best things I've ever done. Would thoroughly recommend. Now to get down, fly to Thailand and get to the beach 8-)

Never heard of this Everest before, is it like snowdon? If so just catch the train to the top.

The green boots body was removed in 2014, so it might be a little hard.

I'm more impressed he got a working phone signal there!
Well done for getting to the bottom of the mountain that you can't even see.

In all seriousness - awesome effort!

I'd expect it to be. It's pretty cold up there.

There's a phone mast in Gorakh Shep-the nearest settlement (i.e a collection of guest houses for trekkers) to Base Camp. I was surprised too though

This afternoon we went up Kalapather which is 5545m peak nearish to Base Camp that has a much better view of Everest and that's just about broken me. It's 5.40pm here and I'm in bed recovering...
