Once it clicks, you can't unlearn it. As soon as the minigame starts, if you hold the fish button the catch square will go up, if you release it drops to the bottom. Try and keep the catch square on the fish. Some fish will oscillate around more than others. The catch square increases as your fishing level does.

And some of them are bouncier than strawberry floating Tigger

Tuna is particularly hyper but then you get some low value bastards who remain completely immobile.

Moved my barn, coop and greenhouse around and then built a walled enclosure for my animals. My pigs are now fully grown and my truffle oil empire is beginning.

It’s strange/amazing reading this thread- I tried Stardew Valley a couple of years back and kind of bounced off it, finding the length of day too short to do all the ‘jobs’ and everything I needed in order to get anywhere.

Reading what you guys are up to, it sounds like a different game to the one I was playing :simper:

Just hit my first winter in my second playthrough and I've fallen in love with this game all over again. I genuinely think it's one of the best games ever made

I've played around 700 hours (over 8 farms) so far and still haven't gotten bored with it.

I swear some of the legendary fish just have pattern rolls that are impossible. I think it's meant to be the same every time, but I swear sometimes it's just easier

Unlocked the greenhouse on the last day of Summer year 2, going to plant nothing but ancient fruit in it after spending most of the year mass producing ancient fruit seeds.

Need to start making some kegs.

Just started Spring in Year 3 and I only have 4 fish left to catch in order to complete the Community Centre and I am BUZZING at the prospect. I spent the entirety of Winter practicing fishing, getting my level up and becoming well-acquainted with the Wiki (don't come at me :shifty: ).

Yeah this is the money maker right here, I'm about halfway through seeding my greenhouse with ancient fruits, kegs are ready and waiting

It's mid year 2 and I've started packing kegs around the side of my cellar so I can more quickly transport across my ancient fruit wine to casks. Married Abigail after seducing most of the village. :datass:

Next goal is to fix Willy's boat.

I'm using an automation mod this time so my plan is to have a shed filled with chests of ancient fruit with three adjacent kegs each processing it into wine and putting it back into the chest, will be doing this with coffee beans too while I proceed with growing the fruit plants.

As for the community center, I only need a truffle and three apples to complete it.

That feeling when you finally complete the Community Centre

:toot: :toot: :toot:

Finally got the hang of the fishing so was able to blitz through the fish tank bundle, but strawberry float me that Sturgeon. Had to buy it from Krobus in the end

This is now the furthest I've ever got with the game. I'd previously put something like 75 hours into my original save with nowhere near as much progress to show for it, don't know what the hell I was spending all my time doing  :fp: I've only just started Summer year 3 but feels like I'm waaay deeper into things.

Super excited to discover that there's now a little Wizard/Witch quest to solve as well as repairing Willy's boat so that I can visit Ginger Island - it's all just so fantastic, honestly top 5 games of all time IMO

I'm nearing the end of summer year 2 at the moment. Still got the fish tank and bulletin board to do at the community centre.

Also how the hell are you supposed to get to the bottom of the caves in the desert in a single go since it seems to have no checkpointing? There just doesn't seem to be enough time to do it. Is bringing a bunch of staircases to skip levels the only real way?

I think it can be done, but yeah staircases seem to be the most efficient way of doing it.

I've recently got back in to this too. I had a 45 hour save file from about 2018, where I'd just started spring Year 2. Loaded itnuo, had no idea what I was doing anymore so started a new farm.

Initially I was just going to get midway through the first spring to jog my memory. Then it was going to be do a bit of summer. And now I'm getting into winter and about 30 hours into my "warm-up" and think I'll just push on and take this forward.

I've been more efficient this time, and seem ahead of where iw as with the community centre last time. I'm especially ahead on the fishing and just need the winter ones to finish it. I've also way ahead with the laydeez too, with five out of the six sitting on 7/8 hearts and just waiting for me to make a commitment.

The only downside is that I didn't do much forward planning with layout as thought I'd just be binning this run. So I need the cold winds of winter to kill everything so I can plan it all a bit better.
