This strawberry floating town.

I keep a stack of Amethyst on me at all times just in case I bump in to Abigail at literally any point and I can be all 'Here's that strawberry floating purple rock you like so strawberry floating much, bitch'.

I found chilis to be quite profitable early on. They grow quite quickly and don't require replanting after each harvest.

I tended to plant things that provide multiple harvests (chillis, corn etc.) and then spend the time whilst I'm waiting for them to grow down the mines. Also I found crafting the things that let you make preserves was a good idea - you seem to get quite a lot of cash for that stuff!

Stardew Valley is coming to iPhone.

The mobile version of Stardew Valley is the full version of the game that "plays almost identically to all the other versions." It has been rebuilt for touchscreen controls by London-based mobile development studio, The Secret Police. All single-player content from the 1.3 patch, including the night market, skull cavern changes, and new character events, will be available, but the game will not support multiple players.

This would work better for me as it could be a game I play when travelling. You can preorder here for £7.99 / $7.99.

I only started playing this on a long haul flight last week.

Think I've played about a nine days in-game time. At least three of those days I've ended up collapsed in a field due to exhaustion. And one time I ended up exhausted miles away from home late and night, and it basically took me too long to get home.

I've also made barely any money on done any hard labour. I had a gold.star parnsip but sold it before I realised it was going to be needed for a quest. I've spent most of my time talking to locals and going to the bar, but no-one really seems to like me yet.

I'm so depressed.

Welcome to Brexit Britain now we can't bring in cheap immigrant labour.

I played on PS4. I LOVE the music and vibe. I put everything I mined in the storage box to the right of my house but it's no longer there. Is it a bin?

Everything you put in there gets sold. That's how you make money.

Yeah, you're never seeing that stuff again. I made the same mistake. It's not a bin though, it's a. Delivery box, so you'll get cash the next day.

Worth noting that you get as much from that box as going to sell directly, so there's no point in selling directly to NPCs.

Build yourself some chests for storage and arrange them in logical places. Last trip of the day should be to the sale box to sell everything you want to get rid of.

I wouldn't worry early on about selling stuff you need for other things, it might mean you don't get some stuff for challenges until the second year, but really the first year (or indeed the first couple of years) in game are a learning curve anyway.
