Up now. 16GB.

Finished the first level and boss, took a little time to get used to the hitting along with the beat mechanic but started to get the hang of it. It’s very polished, mixes in small 2D sections and it’s actually quite funny in parts. Thankfully, the direct showed mostly the first level so I’m looking forward to what’s next. Mini hub area is between levels from what I can gather.

Looks like a Sunset Overdrive sequel :datass:

It plays very nicely. Frame rate seems solid, it has some nice touches in the setup/options, the main character is a likeable idiot, soundtrack is excellent. Hopefully it doesnt outstay its welcome, anything longer than 12 hours will be a chore. It's essentially DMC x Crypt of the Necrodancer x JSR.

Edit: can't see it mentioned on here but Shinji Mikami is a producer as well.

Think I’ll definitely give this a go at some point, I quite enjoyed Cadance of Hyrule once I got the hang of it.

Dude from Xbox era downloaded it and played it to completion which took 11hours.

His review is up already - 9.5. "one of my favorite action platformers of all time"

I didn’t have time to get beyond the tutorial bits last night, but I’m keen to continue. Seems like a lot of fun, though it gave me a dose of latency-anxiety.

I thought this looked really good, I skipped through the rest of the Developer Direct show as I had no no real interest in the rest. I’m amazed this didn’t leak beforehand.

I don't exactly know what that refers to but I can't play Rhythm games on the telly anymore (as opposed to say the Switch handheld) due to my extreme sensitivity to audio-visual lag and sync issues

I'm like that Whiplash teacher but the only suffering student is my own enjoyment.

Yep, I had this problem with Metal Hell Singer. No matter how much I arse around with the calibration it never felt good to me. I think its because you naturally press the button to the beat during calibration, not the visual line up of an icon. Now I think about it, maybe I should have done that part with the audio down.

Exactly that. It’s fine most of the time, but because this game is so focused on hitting the beat, it makes me feel like any audio/visual lag is letting me down.

Yeah, it was worse on that game. This one seems more forgiving.

I was playing on headphones and didn't really notice any lag. But then I'm gooseberry fool at these kinds of games so I probably wouldn't notice anyway.
