Excellent work from one of my favourite youtube channels, really fascinating in depth retrospective on the 360's production in its early years. Crazy to think how debilitating the system's smaller case was, especially since that was to appeal to Asian markets where the console ultimately flopped

I had to rebuy my first model, to be fair I was so hooked on Halo 3 I didn't really mind that much.

My second model had to be sent back twice to be fixed by MS, the second time they sent me a HDMI model which I sold to a friend after I stopped bothering with Xbox and that red ringed on him too

My original white 360 never had any issues it was the Elite that I upgraded to once my hard drive was full that I had problems with. That RROD'd on me while playing Darksiders leading me to buy a second Elite. I'd be a bit strawberry floated if I had a console break on me now, there's no way I could just nip out and buy another as I don't have nearly as much disposable income as I did back then as I lived with my parents still.

Despite the RROD I honestly think the 360 is my favourite console ever.
The pad was a joy to use and it had some really amazing games.

My elite RROD.

Got it fixed and then a few years later the disc drive broke.

My 360 bought August 06 twice failed and was fixed by MS. When it went again in 2010, I went and bought the Arcade model. Never had a problem since. Last year I bought a 500Gb 360 when I heard they had ceased production. Still use it regularly with the X1. Great console and still my favourite for ease of use and the controller.

Y'welcome! :toot: Is a great channel in general, I recommend their 'Punching Weight' series in particular where they look at games trying to achieve the impossible (console RTSes, 3D on GBA etc):

Apologies for going off topic but I've seen some of their Punching Weight vids before. That GBA Asterix game was bloody witchcraft.

I still have two 360s one is in bits and will not power on the other has the top off as I've fixed the RROD a few times and sounds like an aeroplane taking off when used.

That is quite an impressive GBA port.

The GBA versions of THPS2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 are also technical wizardry.

It's the best console I've ever owned. XB1 had some pretty big shoes to fill, and it's not really succeeding in living up to it.
