Just done Marrakesh. Good setting and setup but it's doing the classic Hitman thing of becoming unfeasably complicated. It still feels very much like old school gameplay as well, causing daft accidents, people on basic routes, crap gunplay.

There's still plenty to be enjoyed and it's still very much holding my attention and the draw to go back into all the levels is absolutely still there. I just wish it was a bit more sophisticated at times.

Quadruple post

New elusive target went up today, been waiting for that for a week. Excitedly jumped into, looks really cool and COCK FLOP. Made a hash of it literally within seconds :fp:

Tried to fix it but ended up getting myself gunned down about a minute later. :fp:

Pissed off I tried to scumbag and switched off the PS4 before accepting the failure. Turned it back on and it still says I strawberry floated it

They ain't dicking around with these contracts  :(

So I just got an email about the sixth elusive target. I get the one chance only, thing, but why the time limit? I've paid for the full game, but because I only bought it recently, does that mean I've missed out on five previous missions? Seems like a bit of bullshit to me. Presumably they'll release them all as additional premium dlc somewhere down the line.

You've missed them, yeah. Think of them like daily challenges in anything else, only they're not daily.

Aren't most games with daily challenges just suggesting you try something that's already in the game, though? Most I've seen tend to have the same list of things on regular rotation, at least. This sounds like they're adding a new mission, then taking it away again. Seems like an odd use of the developer's time.

No, I mean like the daily runs in Spelunky that gives everyone the same set of stages and everyone gets one attempt with a leaderboard. There's already thousands of user-generated contracts, the elusive ones are the same as those, only slightly enhanced (as they're from the developer) and one-shot/time-limited, so everyone does it together.

It's honestly a great use of their time, because the limited window drives users to boot it up together, and keeps the media coverage going. And it gives a compelling reason to buy now instead of waiting until the whole season is in a sale. The elusive contracts are the exact reason I bought the game. I had no interest in Hitman, but the continued coverage in podcasts of a previous elusive contract got me interested (everybody's talking about this god damn Hitman), and knowing I'd be missing out on those if I didn't buy now sealed the deal.

Are there? I didn't even realise this had custom levels. I've mostly spent time experimenting with the tutorial levels, trying to get all the different level goals, and the I'm yet to even complete the Paris mission for the first time. I didn't realise these were simply just custom scenarios in existing levels, like you could make in the level creator. It doesn't feel like a cheat now, thankfully. I thought it was going to be something like the Living World content in Guild Wars 2, where the devs spent loads of time creating stuff for season one, that is now completely inaccessible, or the stuff for season 2 which is paywalled if you didn't log in to play it at the time.

I just gave this most recent one a go. Got shot to pieces because I got caught trying to take out someone who spotted me where I shouldn't have been. Oh well.

Well, the user contracts are created by going into the level and marking up to 5 NPCs as the target, then setting up any restrictions on how it should be done. The elusive contracts are the same level, with the new marks added (rather than taken from the existing pool of NPCs) and a few voiceover lines.

Anyway, gave it a go and got the strawberry floater. In the most vanilla way possible. I walked right up to him to determine which one had the watch, followed them until they got to an alleyway, and popped the right one in the back of head. I was seen doing it, but I just turned and ran to the exit.

New elusive contract coming this Thursday.

It's Gary Busey: http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/hitman_ep ... arget.html

7 days long as well. That's better. The latest elusive target sounded really interesting (two twins and you had to work out which was the correct one to kill) but I had a fairly busy weekend and didn't get a chance to give it a go.

Summer Bonus Episode is out now: https://hitman.com/updates/release-note ... us-episode
The HITMAN Summer Bonus Episode consists of two separate ICA missions which catalogue Agent 47’s first trips to both Sapienza and Marrakesh. This Episode is not part of the story arc of HITMAN, being previous ICA missions they are set apart from the main story.

In Sapienza, ‘The Icon’, sees the town taken over by a film crew shooting a new sci-fi blockbuster complete with a 100ft mechanical killer robot in the middle of the town square. And in ‘A House Built on Sand’ players will travel to the noisy and busy night markets of Marrakesh where Agent 47 must stop a billion dollar deal taking place.

I did Sapienza's story mission last night for the first time, and I was all over the place.

The man I got with no trouble (poison his dinner, throw him off the cliff), and then the woman was perfect (meet as the detective, strangle and dump when alone).

But destroying the virus? My god. I couldn't seem to find a decent disguise for the lab at all. As a guard or scientist, there were way too many people that could see through it to even get close to the sample. I ended just charging into the quarantine and shooting the place up. Zero stars.

Classic jiggles.

I had a scientist disguise that only one person in the lab could see through so I just blended in until she turned her back and slipped past. Knocked out the few people in the virus room and dissolved their bodies in acid. Virus destroyed and they were none the wiser.

Still haven't done Marrakesh yet, I'll get on that after the bonus episode and the impending Gary Busey madness.

This sounds brilliant. The amount of good content being released for this is fantastic. Definitely game of the year at this rate.

Game's been stuck "preallocating" on steam for this latest update for a while. Hmm.

EDIT: Restarting Steam has got it going, but it's trickling down.

strawberry floating bullshit that you only get it with the season pass though, strawberry floating daylight robbery. No way I'm buying any more chapters if they're going to penalise you for not getting the season pass.

Unbelievably scummy.

Square are teasing the next episode in Thailand with music from a fake band (the front man may well be a target)

Season 2 confirmed at Paris Game Week -

Same launcher from Season 1
New locations and missions from Season 2 will be added to the base game we already have
Unlocks from Season 1 will be available to be used on Season 2 and onwards
New free content like Elusive Targets and Escalation Missions will still come to Season 1 maps even after Season 2 has already started
Previous cities/countries could be revisited with a new location/mission

50% off on Steam right now. I think that's my jumping on point.
