Finished all 3 campaigns last night. Such a wonderfully crafted game. Love the freedom it give you to approach each mission, and the leeway it gives you to escape from fuck-ups.

Did another playthrough of Mumbai whilst utilising the noisy neighbour. That was great. Was going for silent assassin, but that went wrong when Gregory’s body was found. Still a great run though, and I unlocked some good gear.

Started playing Hitman for the 1st time, assassinated both targets in Paris and the exit is not available. Not the greatest 1st impression.

You've possibly missed something. There are multiple exits, some of them aren't automatically unlocked.

Yeah, some exits will require you to have found an item or done something else to make them usable.

I finished Hitman 3. I found the last level a bit of a disappointment to be honest. Compared to the previous levels it was way too linear. So much so, that as soon as I realised that was the case I just ended up killing everyone to get it over with, which should not even be remotely possible on 'normal' Hitman levels. Surprisingly, I didn't get penalised in the slightest. In fact I got a 5 star rating and a good chunk of challenges ticked off.

Overall the Dubai, Chongqing and Mendoza levels were the highlights. Dartmoor was very enjoyable, but buggy. The fact I couldn't poison a specific drink multiple times without the game crashing was immersion breaking. I didn't especially care for Berlin.

So having finished Hitman 3, I went back completed the first couple of the Hitman (1) levels yesterday. Paris and Sapienza.

It was a bit strange to be honest. The France level literally drops you straight into a very busy environment with little hand-holding. In comparison, the Italian level is much more open, and I felt like I got walked straight through the level with waypoints and tips. Both on exactly the same difficulty (Professional). It's almost as if they were the wrong way round and Sapienza should have been the introductory level :?

Still encountering bugs though which is a shame. I had another straight to (Xbox) dashboard crash when playing the Sapienza level yesterday.

The last level is certainly different. I like it still, suit only silent assassin is a good challenge! There's a surprising variety between the silent assassin, regular run and murder-frenzy approaches to it, even with the level's strict confines.

As for Paris the tutorial levels come before it so I wouldn't call it introductory either. The amount of handholding is also surely dependent on you picking up or not picking up a story mission?

Sounds like a lot of bad luck with crashes unfortunately!

Paris has multiple exits. One of them is a boat. You need the boat key from an office in the building to use this exit.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Also, some exits need the correct disguise for the area, plus I think they will be blocked off if you're being looked for.

The last level is different as it's very story focused and linear.

The true last level is the spectacular vineyard level - the rest is really just the epilogue.

I’ve got the boat key but I may indeed being looked for so that could be my problem.

Edit: Turns out my kills weren't registered so had to start the mission again. Now working fine & tackling the 2nd mission now.

Hitman in VR is a weird yet wonderful experience. Seeing the world from Agent 47's eyes gives a great new perspective on things. I just want to explore! But then it comes to using stuff, and hoo boy do I need to work on that. I'm a terrible shot. I'm a terrible thrower. And I'm just bad in general. I'll pick it up with more play of it. Though I'll settle for passing a mission at present.

Currently Hitman 3 is £30 on Steam, which is still £10 more than the best price it's been on Epic.

Is Hitman 3 generally regarded as the weakest of the 3?

Been loving the trilogy, just recently finished 1 and 2. The first two missions of 3 seemed a step down to me. Berlin seemed cool as strawberry float but was really buggy for me which kinda ruined it :( not sure I'm feeling mission 4 quite as much as earlier ones either. Maybe I'm just fatigued.

Berin's amazing!

Plus you have Dartmore (best level they've done) and the Vineyard!

The last level's a bit crap- but it's a bit different and story focused.

Berlin seemed cool but the amount of bugs I ran into strawberry floated it. I had to spend 10 minutes listening to the same sentence on loop in my earpiece.

Berlin is completely different on repeated runs. but I really loved that first run at it.

I don't think 3 is any weaker than 1 or 2, but it is the most gimmicky with its levels. I think that's deserved though, as the final game in the trilogy mixing things up.
